People and Lebanon are celebrating a 10-day cease-fire following more than a month of war between Israel and the Orombecht Hezbollah militant group in Lebanon. Israeli strikes and Lebanon have killed nearly 2,200 people. The House is renewing a controversial surveillance program through the end of April. It rejected a Republican push to renew the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act for five years. The Act lets intelligence agencies collect vast amounts of overseas communications without a warrant. In Cameroon, thousands of people turned out to day to see Pope Leo XIV who was celebrating a big mass in the country's port city.
