But those stopgap levies expire in less than three months. Now the Trump administration is looking to put more durable tariffs in place. Meantime Lisa Dwyer reports. U.S. Consumer Confidence rose modestly in April, despite growing anxiety over soaring energy prices brought on by the war in Iran. The conference board says that its consumer confidence index inched up to 92.8 respondents comments about prices, oil, gas, and the war increased in April as the national average for a gallon of gas in the U.S. rose to $4.18 this week. I'm Lisa Dwyer. On Wall Street, the S&P and the Nasdaq retreated from record highs. The S&P fell half a percent than asked at 0.9 that I'll slip 25 points. I'm Ben Thomas.
