0:00I'm Mike Hempon with an AP Newsman in a Kuwaiti oil refinery came under Iranian drone attacks earlier today and sirens in Israel warned of incoming fire. Also explosions boomed over Tehran from Israeli strikes as the country marked the Persian New Year. The war is nearing the end of its third week, with Iran showing no signs of letting up on its attacks. The Trump administration has struck a deal with a Russian ally. Belarus's authoritarian president Alexander Lukashenko has ordered the release of 250 political prisoners. The pardon's follow a meeting with President Trump's special envoy, John Cole, part of a deal to lift U.S. sanctions on two Belarusian state banks and the country's finance ministry. Belarus has been sanctioned repeatedly, both for its crackdown on human rights and for allowing Russia to use its territory for the 2022 invasion of Ukraine. I'm Ben Thomas. I'm Mike Hempon.
