0:00I'm Arsala Sanchez with an AP News Minute. President Trump has extended his own deadline for Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. AP Washington correspondent Sagar Magani has more. On social media, the president writes the USA and Iran have had very good conversations that could end the war and says the Pentagon will hold off on striking Iranian power plans for five days. Just three days ago, the president again urged other nations to help the U.S. reopen the Strait, but at the same time, the next day he threatened to bomb Iran's power stations that it did not reopen the Strait. Earlier today, Tehran said it would strike power facilities across the region. State TV now says the president has backed down after Iran's firm warning, Sagar Magani Washington. Wall Street shot higher and global oil futures tumbled after President Trump's announcement. I'm Arsala Sanchez.
