I'm Ben Thomas with an AP News Minute. President Trump told reporters yesterday he's been pressing Russia's leader on Ukraine. I had a long talk with President Putin. I suggested a little bit of a cease-fire, and I think he might do that. He might announce something happy to do with it. Donna Warder has today's follow-up. Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky says he wants more details about the May 9 cease-fire. Russian President Vladimir Putin proposed to President Trump over the phone on Wednesday. The break-in attacks would coincide with Russia's victory day. Zelensky says he wants to know whether the short-term cease-fire would be a few hours of security for a parade in Moscow or something more. And Ukraine is proposing a longer-term cease-fire. Meanwhile, Russia launched overnight attacks in a central Ukrainian city, as well as in the southern port city of Odessa. And Ukraine continued striking industrial facilities inside Russia for a second day in a row. I'm Donna Warder. And I'm Ben Thomas.
