0:00I'm Ed Donahue with an AP News Minute. President Trump says the U.S. is talking with the respected Iranian leader and claims the Islamic Republic is eager for a deal to end the war. Now, Iran is one more opportunity to end its threats to America and Iraqis, and we hope they take it. Either way, America and the entire world will soon be much safer and will be a much more secure planet. The President is also extending for five days a deadline for Iran to reopen the crucial strait of Hormuz or face attacks on its power plants. The turnaround, which held out the possibility of resolving the war now in its fourth week, served to drive down oil prices and send stocks higher. Iran denies talks are being held. Its parliament speaker said on X, no negotiations have been held with the U.S. adding fake news is used to manipulate the financial and oil markets. More information at apnews.com. I'm Ed Donahue.
