0:00I'm Ed Donahue with the Navy News Minute. President Trump is threatening to ban the sale of aircraft from Canada's Bombardier, unless it manufactures planes in the U.S. The maker of private jets in response pointed out major components for its planes from wings to engines are produced in the U.S. and its supply chain relies heavily on U.S. companies. Canada's retaliatory tariffs took effect on about $20 billion worth of U.S. goods. The Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney says a tariff war won't be easy, but it's the right thing for the country now. We have everything we need to pivot and prosper. That pivot will come at a cost. There's always a cost to action, but it doesn't come close to the cost of standing still. A spokesman for Canada, U.S. Trade Minister Dominic Leblanc said officials from both countries remain in contact, even though formal negotiations have not resumed.
