0:00Good morning. I'm Ed Donahue with an AP News Minute. Defense Secretary Pete Hickseth is before the Senate Armed Services Committee to discuss the war in Iran. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer says Hickseth told a House Committee yesterday. The biggest challenge in the biggest adversary are reckless, feckless, and deftest words of congressional Democrats and some Republicans. You caused the war and your boss, Donald Trump. You got into this mess. You can't get us out of this mess. And so you try to point a finger. People don't buy that. Maybe a few mega listeners of Fox News do, but not anybody else. Iran Supreme Leader says his country will protect its nuclear and missile capabilities as a national asset. The remarks come as Iran's oil industry is struggling under a U.S. Navy blockade. As the global economy feels the strain of Iran's chokehold on the strait of Hormuz. World oil prices surged above $126 a barrel today. I'm Ed Donahue.
