The International Olympic Committee has announced transgender women athletes are now excluded from the Olympics after the IOC agreed to a new eligibility policy. This aligns with President Trump's executive order on women's sports ahead of the 2028 Los Angeles Games. It's unclear how many of any transgender women are competing at an Olympic level. No women who transitioned from being born male competed at the 2024 Paris Summer Games. Former Venezuelan president Nicolas Maduro will appear in a courtroom in New York today as he seeks to have his drug trafficking indictment thrown out. His lawyer argues the U.S. is violating his constitutional rights by blocking Venezuelan government funds from being used to pay his legal costs. It's the first time that Maduro and his wife, C.D.F. Lores, will be in court since January is arraignment. I'm Marcela Sanchez.
