Anvil Mountain Inmates Charged in January Riot

Alaska State troopers announced the charges Monday following their investigation into the fight that happened on January 7th. Troopers learned about the incident two days later. Tin inmates had assaulted three others in a plan the gang related attack, but guards stopped to fast. No one ended up with serious injuries. That same month saw another unrelated fight with dozens of inmates at Spring Creek Correctional Center ensured. Neither event got public notice from the corrections department until the trooper spoke up. Nine men got charged out of the 10 involved since one died outside custody. Officials say these kinds of inmate clashes happen now and then and get handled quickly by staff.
