The couple build insurers $12.5 million for medical injections they never bought or gave to patients treating arthritis and. Similar conditions, instead, they use wrong drugs or expired doses on hundreds of people while dodging over $4 million in taxes. Officials called it a callous operation that put profits over patient care for folks with serious illnesses. The U.S. Attorney in Alaska highlighted how they stashed away unlawful earnings for over a decade at everyone's expense. This week, a federal judge hit Dr. Tan with the full six-and-a-half-year prison term prosecutors wanted, plus three years of supervised release.
