Jesus sets a stark choice before every society: service or predation. A culture built on the lust for power becomes a vulture society devouring, distrustful, and cruel while a diaconal society is marked by humility, service, and sacrifice. True ministry can’t be manufactured by the state or sustained by ideology; it flows only from Christ, who came not to be served but to serve. If He does not govern us, something else will and it will not be gentle. The choice is unavoidable, and the cost is real: Christ, or the vultures.
