Remember, if you are in the greater Los Angeles area, Dodger games are also available on the iHeart Radio app and the AM570-a-lay sports tab. So no radio, no TV, tarot scuba on the mount tonight. iHeart Radio app can be your destination to hear the Dodgers see their sixth consecutive victory against the Reds out at Dodger Stadium tonight. I know a guy who said that the Dodgers are going to be okay because they're not playing anybody good. I don't know what it means in the playoffs. But tonight people are feeling pretty good about scuba. People are feeling pretty good about Billy Corgan saying we'll crucify the insincere tonight. So we got that going for us and we're watching scuba.
See what he's going to do. Where will he go? Tarot scuba watch. Where will he go? All the big teams are calling. Boston or New York. Where will he go? The Wapiala. Where will he end up going on Monday? Tarot scuba watch. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Hoping ins up in LA. So we will talk to David Vassay and do the scuba watch properly and get into Otani's problems and the Dodgers problems. And what's been going on in the long Labor Day weekend. We hope you had a wonderful and safe Labor Day weekend while the super Nino is putting so much work, super Nino. Hurricane Marathe. You really put it on us. Really going hard, Ronnie Fascio, barely sleeping, doing his second meteorological job. From his house and his garage.
We got that going on. So we'll do how was your weekend as the show continues. So Bruce Feldman, my colleague from Fox, who does the studio work. And of course, he's a college football insider. Bruce Feldman is going to join us in our second hour. And there's plenty of stuff to discuss. There's USC. How about that, huh? Gary Patterson in the USC defense. How about that? Very exciting win over Fresno, I guess. I mean, come on, Pete. We're talking about the physicality coming down the five freeway. They did pretty good. Patterson has bunch get out there and shut them out. Yeah, Fresno quarterback looked to have been overmatched early and things got away from them. But yes, USC. I mean, when you played San Jose, Fresno and Louisiana. And now you mentioned that pepper is coming to town. I am. The pepper is going to be here. They're mad. After that pepper. I mean, when you play those three teams.
We all love Fresno and their physicality coming down to five, but that proved to be much less toothy than originally thought. San Jose looked like a lot better team than them. And USC is going to develop and we'll see where it goes. But you got Jed Fish throwing a hissy fit on the sideline up there at Washington. Jed Fish lost the plot. He his gills were inflamed Matt. His gills were inflamed. He was very mean to the sideline lady. He was mean to the sideline lady. He threw his headset in a very. Demons. He was very, very unhappy and very pissy. I would say he was very Leon dry side of Jed Fish and the apple cup on Sunday. And then of course we had the power outage on on last time. Come on man. And Tallahassee. Got Tallahassee drunk drivers crashing into trance. I mean, they're cooking one of burgers with butane gliders.
It's just a terrible night in Tallahassee. So there's a lot to talk about with college football. Obviously the Michigan situation and there's a clock. They found an extra second in there. Oh yeah, where was it? It was up in the replay booth. The clock, the the second was up there in the replay booth. Look what I found. Yeah, usually don't see that happening. Matt, you know, you can imagine if it was Western Michigan that would have needed a second Hail Mary there at the big house. Do you think they would have gotten that second back? You know, be a just don't know. We just don't know. You drink a glass of water but you just don't know. Just don't know. Yeah, no, I get it, Matt. I get it because it's an unknown and you don't know what an unknown is and that's why we call it an unknown. But my point is between all of that and then the cherry on top of it for the gutty little bruins like our own Tim Kates here walking around with his chest all chested as he should
right? Chess that chest. We knew that Kenny Chesney with his chest was going to come to town and rip the top off the Tacoma Dome in the form of UCLA coach Bob Chesney took a half, you know, got to get settled. Well, I mean, you're on it. Got a figure that area. Forward area. You ever serve in a forward area? You ever put your life in another young man's hands, asked him to put his life in yours. You know what it's like when the UC's clash, Matt takes a minute. Okay, this wasn't UC Santa Cruz volleyball against UC San Diego volleyball. No, you're right. Put so sword fight. Nothing to know. This was real, Daniel. This wasn't tournament. Can I see that crowd? Do you see Fendole Hill up there? Are there all people falling over looking down the game? It's called tight one hill. Wow, look at that angle. What was that? Well, yeah, what was that? The game starts talking. And there he is. Look at that direction. We're testing out a new machine here. Yeah, I got Tim Kates and his mussely shirt.
Holy cow, we got dressed for today. I didn't know you could see that. Yeah, mussely. We are. We're all very proud of our friend Bob Chesney and him coming on the show and being cool on a game week. What was the last time we had a head coach other than Mikro and on a game week mad around here? Well, I would guess when we used to have Pete Carroll come on every week. Well, yeah, you know, the salad days of old Pete Carroll's like Pete, literally 100 years old now, man. So Bob, are we ready? We appreciate Bob Chesney and the UCLA Bruins and there. Are you going to come back on again? Kate? Is he going to come back around again? This thing, man. This is for the people of the sun. Well, I'll see if Chesney's available, but I actually put a request into UCLA for Tim Harris. Yeah, because I told him that he was friends with Matt. There you go. I've yet to hear back, but you see Tim Harris bought 300 seats for the game at the Rose Ball on Saturday and fans have already snatched him up. He's going to buy some more, I think. Well, he's working.
He's working, you know, pro bono. He's a man that made, I believe, a little over 30 mill when the Lakers were sold. So he's cashin' in a little bit of that equity for the people. You know, hey, I'm going to buy 300 to it. At least we know 300 seats will be taken. And I heard a rumor that because it was a night game that Tim Harris was able to bus in to Berkeley all the way up University Ave, coach mode to give a speech. And keep it mine, fellas. My family's from Canada. They know who you guys are. And football ain't like that in Canada. No. But they know who you are. You mentioned the new system were testing out here, P. Yeah, cameras. Yeah. Doug Eddings called. He needs you to fix that cap. Oh, my, oh, I look like Fernando Rodney. He needs you to fix that. You know, I got to be honest with Doug Eddings on the phone.
He is not happy right now. This is a radio broadcast. You got to fix that cap. Everybody knows the Doug Edding story at this point was it the St. Louis Cardinals that were playing? Yes. Yeah, the St. Louis Cardinals and they had a rookie picture up there. And he had the sideways hat on and Doug Eddings who looked like the bad guy in a movie, the bad ump in a movie. He, he told him to straighten out his hat. The catcher was kind of laughing. And then the Cardinal manager came out and told him to grow up and then everything's gone back and forth and Doug Eddings has had to apologize. And of course on the secret text also line, Matt, as you know, the secret text also line it. Brought to you by your SoCal Toyota dealers, we make it easy much longer than my memory and your memory probably and maybe Ronnie's memory is the memory of the secret text also line. Oh, the secret text also line it. Brought to you by your SoCal Toyota dealers, we make it easier. I never forget the secret text also never, never. My favorite was like, Hey, Tim Cates must be rock hard watching this guy.
Once it is guy regulate this young Latino, this young brown skin man telling him to straighten out his hat, Tim Cates must be rock hard for baseball's unwritten rules. He must be so stoked right now. Dave, you care to comment? Do you want to say some case? You want to say that? You want to say that? Doug, yeah, I just want to say that it's best for baseball if it's a face. Everybody, you know, cock their hat to the side like they all did in solidarity the next day. And so be it. I just want to what's best for baseball? They did a solidary sidecock there. Both of the endings had to apologize. He had to both dugouts did the cock. You know, not just the cardinals, but they're all the same. You see Chris sale to the braves. Yeah. After he pitched, came off the mountain, he tilted that hat to the side and saw there to what I would guess. We're going to wear our hats. We're going to wear our hat the way we want. Okay. If I want to crop my hat, I'll crook it. You think there's going to be a lockout over the money and the cap? You're crazy.
The lockouts all about the crook hat. That's all we really want is being aware of. So this Doug Eddies gentleman, I'm guessing last crew says his own, Doug Eddies, not very popular with the major league baseball players. They're against their united front against him with their cock hat. You thought it was about the lockout. It's about the cockout. Look out. There's a different sort of opinion. Look out. And no one's going to give it. Rich guys fight. No, for more money. Let me park my hat. It's a lockout. Cockout. Cockout. So good luck to everybody involved in that one. But Bruce Feldman, we will not talk to him about the cockout. We will talk to him about all the different great stories that unfolded over the weekend. You guys didn't have a problem with the guy having his hat all to the side and everything. No. I wouldn't even have noticed it. I didn't even want him to wear a hat. I mean, that's the one I wear one. You know where I stand on this. Take your head. You don't want to, you want to cock that thing because you don't like the way it looks straight.
Go ahead. Just take it off. I can see Matt holding that. Holy is stupid. No hat baseball policy. Until some guy up there has got like L. Debarge hair. And Matt's like, look what I created. You know, it's like William Wordsworth and all. It's a Jerry Curl Mullet. It's exactly like all the British writers, the romantic writers who thought they were all cool, saying the French Revolution was so great. And then they went to Paris and some people just being dragged out of their houses with their heads cut off by a bunch of peasants and they were like, what did I do? What am I done? I'm going to give this a little more time. I've done a terrible thing. That's what's going to be like, Matt, when a guy's got a flock of... Guys, not wearing a hat is going to be just like the French Revolution. Exactly like the heads fly. And that's French Revolution exactly like that. Matt, Eddings is the embodiment, a human embodiment of the guillotine. When there's a guy with a flock of sequels there, cut. Awesome. Check in the runner at first. You're going to feel like a real A-hole. But anyway, that's a schedule. Schedule, talk. Talk. Hey, short story.
How about Doug Eddings? Like, yeah, yeah. I was the only one had a problem with it. How about the catcher here, Redmond? You had a problem with it too, right? He's like, too. I know you're talking about it. No, I didn't. Doug. Leave me out of it, Doug. I think you did, Redmond. I think the studio audience would agree with me there. Booh. I don't agree at all. You fat white idiot. Well, it's the catcher that lodged the initial complaint I did. No, I didn't. Hey, sweetheart, they're really leaving me out here with my D in the win. It's me, Doug Eddings. We got to keep these immigrants under control, right? Right? Am I right? Booh. What are you doing? You believe that right? Right now, huh? Who's had the worst weekend? Doug Eddings or the Indian and Tallahassee that blew up the transformer? Do you think Kate's thought about his impending that about the text, though, so lying, dragging him in today's show when he saw that?
I think he thought it was possible and he was hoping that something else would happen. It's to where he didn't have to address that he had a big issue with the cocktail, right? Years ago, even though we're like, it's for his dad who was eaten by a swordfish or something and he used to wear a cocktail out there on the scenes. Respect the field. His dad was eating and the bus he was attacked by a flying shark in the Bermuda triangle. And he had his hat cock like that when he died. And that's why Fernando Rodney wears his hat like that. Kate's like, I don't care. Baseball's bigger than his dad in the fishing industry in the Bahamas. Kate's his variance. You're right, Matt. Kate's where you freaking out about what might be worth. Did you think why? I really got my money. I'm aware that my balls are on a skewer now. I was. I was freaking out on Saturday or Sunday, whatever had happened. And then everything happened between then and now. And I was like, oh, okay. The enough has happened. People are going to forget about the guy wearing his hat sideways, but apparently not. No. Now they remember you, Kate. They remember you and Fernando Rodney. They remember that poor rookie in this fat drop.
Did that umpire uniform via some sort of, uh, we know how you would describe it. You know Matt, the umpires work hard. I don't think it's they do. You know, they work hard. They're trying their best out there. Okay. Straighten up that hat. All right. He apologize for what happened Friday night. He actually told the guy best of luck the rest of his career. What was the guy's name? Uh, how's that? Handsome. We're in cone. How do you use that cell? Do it, dog. Tell him not to wear his hat that way. All right. Hunter, I'm going to go tell him. Well, Hunter's the one that told me to do it. No, I didn't. Well, yeah, you did. You brought up noted. That one. One make. We have to make. There's all this stuff going on in the sports world. And we have to talk about cases. Cardinals games. Cases take five years ago. Attacking just because we were sitting here in studio and cases looking at Fernando Ronnie like, who is stupid hat? Kimberley is stupid hat. He's like a gay man. He went on and on about that.
And then I promise you, I know what the rest of the week is going to be dedicated to. Kayan, the hot pepper mascot. It is the Louisiana. The rage and Cajuns. They used to be the Louisiana La Fiat. But now they're just Louisiana. I believe. I believe Daniel Jeremiah was the quarterback for Louisiana La Fiat before he transferred to Appalachian State. I do. I thought he was in a West. I thought he was in a Kentucky university. I don't know if it was Louisiana Monroe or Louisiana. They're very close to each other, Matt. And then neither of them are far from Louisiana Tech. Yes. Which is another that was the current Louisiana is where Daniel Jeremiah cut his teeth his first two years in college football. So if we cannot land Kayan for the interview, well, we're going to have to get the lay of the land from somebody other than Kayan. And if we do, that's going to have to be Daniel Jeremiah.
DJ went to north eastern Louisiana, son of a bitch, with their mascot, Vic the demon. Well, that's why he left. You know, he's pretty religious guy. Exactly. I'm not working for a demon. This is the work of the devil. Do you think they'll bring Kayan out to the historic Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum? Well, I think it's a lot easier than traveling the HBCU honey bees. Did you see those chicks dancing the other day? I did. So I think like it would be a lot easier to travel one guy with a pepper head, a pepper head and like a muscle suit than it would to be to travel 12 plus size dancers. So we're going to see Kayan out there on the feet. I would hope so. I'm going to be elsewhere, but I hope that Kayan will be on base or show for the very first time in its history will be live on Friday, which I believe is a is a flex alert.
One to three. Yes, alert. That's a flex alert going into the Dodgers, Marlins. I'm very very very first time ever. Renight game. I will be live from Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. And we have clearance to do great sports talk. Great sports talk on base, which is not normally granted, but we have been very friendly over the years. My father once visited Troy Calhoun, the great Air Force coach. Troy Calhoun, not just been an Air Force 20 years as a coach. He was the quarterback there and served his service as an officer. He's an absolute marvel and coaching and they're hosting North Dakota State.
The bison. So that's in the bison buzz saw is coming to town. It's going to be a lot of fun. So there's a lot of anticipation for that one. And my dad visited there once and of course I've called a few of their games remotely. And some that I called one in Logan last year where they were visiting. And I've had a long and you know my appreciation for the view. Of course, Matt. Certainly. And how much I love flying. Well, it is Air Force, you know, it's appropriate that you got a fly to get there. Yeah. So, so I are they going to pick you up in an Air Force jet from the Denver Airport there and give you that quick hop up the Colorado Springs. Well, it's not been discussed. Believe we are we've hired a car. But I one way to do it, you know, I'm going with a clipper play by play man known on our station, who's this will be the third football game I think he's ever called on Fox. Carlo Jimenez.
24 year old play by play dynamo and his spotter Joey, who is personal spotter. He has a personal spotter who is no older than 20 years old. You know, the young a lot of times you get him at an entry level rate. Save a little bit of scratch there. You know, maybe a double down on the statistician. A guy that's been in the game like Steve DeSager for some 50 years. Yeah, yeah, you pay for it for every year. But I will be with almost like people are going to think I'm with my two children on base at Air Force, you know, would not be hard to believe at 24 and 20 years old. And I'm 49. So overnight, I became a very old broadcaster this weekend because that will be pretty exciting for our show to be. To launch your TikTok page. We're going to talk about it over dinner and a Coke for young Joey. That's right. At the Colorado local Joey here will have a coke. Yeah, I will have a bar is going to four fingers of bourbon.
The bar is the for and please bring me again. It's back and Joey. Here's the keys. And it's going to be the bar is going to be exactly like the bar. I believe in top gun and I'm going to get over to the piano me and Carlo like goose. You never close your eyes. So that is something to look forward to in college football as well. This week live from I don't think our show has ever been live from any service. A cat and a service academy or any military thing ever. So it's cool. And it's an honor to be there, especially on 9 11. It'll be cool to be part of it no matter what because I've had a lot of respect for Air Force. That's the only service academy that I've ever done their games and I've done maybe a half dozen or more. And I love that guy Troy Calhoun and they're just a marvel. The kids that play there are a marvel. And last year, you know, because they're kind of boring. They're like a veer team.
And for most people, that's sort of boring. And there's a lot of sought-off white dudes with with flat tops from Virginia Beach. They go flying at your D with the top of their head. It's not conventional football. But what I do love about it is the stories about the players. So you could ask Calhoun like how many of these dudes can fly a plane? He's like half, you know, like the other two are like space force guys and then there's guys that do repair. And then there's like acquisitions military. The best runner, one of my favorite running backs ever Brad Roberts, a white running back, a veer guy for Air Force who broke all kinds of records like three or four years ago. He's now in military acquisitions. So he's like that Tom Hanks movie, you know, wearing a suit and going and buying a bunch of missiles from dudes in Libya or whatever. LeBron James just called its acquisitions. Damn it. Yeah. All right, go to break. You're right. It's kind of hard. You want to be grammatically correct, especially you're talking about the service academies.
It's right. Trying to be a hot brow, trying to be all cool. God, that I mean, not to make an Air Force. Reference, but that really did shoot me right back down to earth right there. Blue me right out of the sky, all the acquisitions. And what coach have had done with all the acquisitions. Is it, oh, we have tickets to give away. Yeah, Matt. We got three pair of charger tickets for the kickoff of the season. That has happened in its so-fi on Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals. So we've got a pair every hour for Chargers Cardinals at so-fi Sunday, 125 PM. And I think we have two pair, right? Two pair of tickets for the Dodgers game tomorrow. Is that what we're doing? Yes. Yes. Wow. Two pair tomorrow, P. Just tomorrow is a special day for you. Tomorrow's a Toyota sweet night. Every day is a special day for me, Matt. Especially when I get to work with Carlo and Joey.
But especially exciting tomorrow. Because tomorrow night's game is the Toyota sweet night. The AM 570 sweet. Brought to you by Toyota. We make it easy. Toyota. Let's go place. Is it weird when you and Joey both order off the kids menu? Like, well, the nuggets in the, being cheese burrito, please? I mean, like, look, you don't need a whole nuggets to yourself. You're going to have some of my fingers, Joey. Joey here, I'll take a shirt. It's your cold. We like, does your coleslaw have mayonnaise? He doesn't like the ones that are more vinegar-based. Joey here's going to have a green river. Taaaaaah! I'll be a... I'll be taking a whatever brown liquor you have in a pint glass, please. My boss at Fox was like, how old is Carlo? 25 is like, he's 24. She's like, wow. Wow. Ha ha ha. Younger than my daughter. I was like, you're the one that hired you. All right, we'll be back with more, Pentros and Muddy.
Send your daughter out. I'll trade her too. Warning. The following song has been rated dangerously catchy and may not be suitable for grownups. One, two, three, four. One, two, three, four. Knock, knock, knock, knock, knock, knock, knock, knock, knock. The door, five, six, who is it? Five, six, who is it? It's coming at... Elliott. It's coming at... Lingo Kids, only suitable for kids. Kickoff at 125. Chargers be cardinals. If you want to go, give us a holler 866-987-2570. Demand. Let's do it. With an inside look at the Dodgers. This is the Vassy Report with David Vassy. It's David Vassy also known to only Mookie Betts as Vassy. With us on your courtesy of Downey Hyundai, but on the Southern California Toyota Diversal Liberty Hotline. And Dave is of course with us on AM570LA Sports as our Dodger reporter. And the Spectrum Sports NetLA and MLB Network did some great work on TV over the weekend. And here he is again. Tear it up again. No days off for David Vassy. As the magic number is eight to win the NLS. How's it going Dave? It's going great. It feels like we're already in Miami with this weather out here in LA.
But things are much better in Dodgerland these days. But what is the, I mean, you were there the whole time. The Ruff Road trip. Dave Roberts frustration. The dead offense. What's been different? What has changed and what is the attitude like? Well, today the Dodgers again are going to be without Shaleo Tani and they're starting lineup. He is not in the lineup. I saw him come into the club house at about five after three this afternoon. Normal time when he comes in. He seemed to be in good spirits. We'll talk to Dave Robertson about a half hour to find out exactly what the plan is. Whether it's one of those things when they bring a guy back. It's one game on. One game off. We'll find out the reason why O'Connie is not in the starting lineup tonight. Also Freddie Freeman is the D.H. tonight and not playing first space. It's interesting because Freddie had a day off five days ago and now he's the D.H. and Kike Hernandez is starting at first space.
So we'll find out about that a little bit later as well. But really Tommy Edmund has been the story. This entire homestead enduring this winning streak of five in a row. The incredible tatch has made in center field the spark plug that he has been in O'Connie's absence leading off. He's leading off again tonight. Last night he got the started second base. He made a dazzling play in the third inning. He's just doing everything for the Dodgers right now. So I would say Tommy Edmund is a big reason why the Dodgers have won five in a row. And we know they've certainly from past successes. How clutch Will Smith's bat is. How important he is to this team. Just what you saw last night with that sack fly for the insurance run and then catch in Evan Phillips and how soon you think it'll be before he's full go. Yeah, it feels like in his last handful of outings he's looked like Evan Phillips. And last night was his first save since last May.
And last night was somewhat of a vintage game because he had Alex Vesia come in and the six thinning with two outs and the base is loaded strikes out JJ Blade and then you have Evan Phillips close the game. So it was a 2024 bullpen dogs kind of feel last night, which is something that Dodgers need from both those guys. And then just in terms of Will Smith and how he is and how they are going to ease him back in versus kind of letting him get after like what do you think that schedule looks like? Yeah, the way it's been trending is he starts the game, sits the game and is able to be available as a pinch hitter like last night. There's been no real talk that it's taking him some time to get back into the flow of things. And just his presence on the bench behind the plate is a calming settling presence. And it he has such an air confidence behind the plate. It's really made a huge difference especially for the relievers. You've developed quite the relationship with Terrick Scoobal Dave.
What do you expect from him tonight? Have we seen the best he has to offer? Blake, Snow and Terrick Scoobal both have told me you have not seen the best of Scoobal. And I would agree with that. He has to be better in the first inning of games. He just seems to be easing into games recently and I think he really needs to come out tonight and put up a zero and retire the reds in order. And that would change the trajectory of really how his Dodger six starts have gone. If he can get through the first inning of tonight's game, I think you're going to see a more school bull-like type of start. But yeah, he even admitted to me a couple of days ago where you really haven't seen the best of him. And his new BFF Blake, Snow has told me that the cadence of his starts will get better and I think the expectations have been extremely high for Scoobal. But you'd like to see the dominant side of Scoobal that we saw in Detroit. We haven't seen that so far with the Dodgers.
And quite honestly, Blake's now has been the most dominant lefty in the Dodger rotation since he came back. I let Ken Rothan fall know that too. I guess he ran out of space and there's no book today. Where, Kenny? What about Scoobal Dave in this kind of potentially? Are we seeing a shuffling over the rotation? And I know you said you had your concerns about him because of how Scott Borris has handled his clients in the past going into free agency. But he's used to pitching on four days and that's what you're going to need to do for games one and five. Do you think we're seeing that being tried out now? I don't believe you starting game one. I really don't for a number of different reasons. Also part of it being what we saw with Magsures or Scott Borris client in 2021 that decided not to pitch in game six going into free agency of the NLCS. So for a number of different reasons, I believe Scoobal starts game three of any playoff series. I think you got SNELL and Yamamoto starting the first two games like they did last year.
Scoobal starting game three and glass now starting game four. No one in only David Vassay is our guest at the real underscore DV on X. He is our Dodger reporter and nobody can do it better just like the DOC. Theo Hernandez, Dave has turned it around. Is he out of the woods? Is he proven the haters like yourself wrong? No, no, you're the hater, Petro. What did I do? We actually played a call. I kept the receipts. I'm keeping the receipts on all the tail haters out there. We played a Dean from LA. We got the receipts on Dodger talk last night. We played it back and I'm keeping names from all the tail haters from earlier this year. But look, he actually told me he went to go see the same eye doctor that Kike Hernandez and Max Muncie went to see when they got their eyeglasses. His vision was fine. What he did was open his stance a little bit more so he could have better pitch recognition.
And that's part of the reason why he's not chasing pitches as much and he's really punishing the baseball in the zone. So he exhausted what many of those recliner armchair baseball fans out there were demanding for him to get his eyes checked and he certainly did. So keep sipping on your big goal at home. Oh, God. Big goal. So Tio's hitting Tommy Edmund has been one of the hottest hitters in baseball. Does does that mean the offense? I don't want to say is it fixed? I mean, you'd like to have an Otani that's not hidden, you know, like 200 over the last month and a half, but kind of where where do you see the offense now? Average and six runs over these last four games versus maybe where it was. Well, like I told you guys when Pahez went down, getting Will Smith was going to be big. You didn't know what version you were going to get of Smith in the first couple of weeks, but it's been better than expected. It looks like he hasn't missed any games this year, but they needed Mookie beds and Tio's
Hernandez to play better and to produce more than what they had. Kyle Tucker has continued to struggle. So at least they're getting better out of Mookie who's hitting 300, flicking 500 in the last month. And Tio's Hernandez in the last day games has looked like Tio's Hernandez. But you won't read down the California post. Oh, you got dug at it on the pregame show, Dave. Is the rumors true? Yeah. Right. Big news. No, no, there's no rumors here. There's no rumors. And I don't know who's going to be on the pregame show yet. We're deciding maybe Alex Paul who's in the starting lineup tonight. The California post here are good days. Is that Dylan? Is that oral? It's, uh, it's the wannabe Toby Keith. Jack Harris from the California post. The wannabe Toby Keith. I didn't know there was one. Thank you, Dave. Have a great night. All right, guys. Thanks. Great stuff from Dave.
Like you said, he's got Doug adding on the pregame show. The guy that told the guy to crypt. The uncooked is at. wannabe Toby Keith. No longer with us, sadly, Toby. Nice guy. I heard. Yeah. I saw him on the sideline of a football game. And I saw with him in Papa Roach. I saw the other guy on the side of the side line of a football game, too. Not Toby Keith, but the other giant country guy. But he was on the sideline of a, uh, of a West Virginia game. Atkins trace Atkins. Oh, trace Atkins. Yeah. I saw him. I saw him. Trace got that super deep voice. He was very big. Yeah. Uh, we'll be right back with, uh, your. How was your weekend? We'll find out who else partied with a Papa Roach. All right, it is time for, how was your weekend? It's the money. I'm going to do what I do, the weekend is mine. So. We've been training a week, days like a weekend. How was your weekend? Matt, how was your weekend? Good weekend. It's a good name. Yeah, the Hurricane Marie delivered. Rarely it does. It usually is not what is advertised, but this time it was out there about three hours on Saturday.
And went to dinner with the wife at the islands near our old house. Again, just take the damn calories off the menu. Can we please do that? It is very disconcerting and upsetting, but I still got the burger and the fries. And I didn't give a damn about the calorie count. Sunday, another three hours of surfing took Willow the dog over to surf sides. She could run around and watch other people surf in the dog surf side. Yeah, you know, it's kind of it's not really herb street, your dog over there. I don't. I just kind of let her run and she sort of rolls around and dead fish and that kind of stuff as a good time. Did I have like a little shop, like a little pop up shop setup where people could buy Willow the dog paraphernalia, like they do for Herb Street's dog Peter? You know, unfortunately, I am not as, well, I don't have the foresight that Kurt has. No, I'm not. I'm not as cognizing how much people love sports caster's dogs. Apparently not. Went to dinner with the good doc and his lady and my lady at the rip there in Huntington Beach.
They wanted pizza and the pizzas are huge. The doc and I wanted smash burgers. So the two of us combined to split a smash burger and then eat the Mo-Honey Mo-Problems pizza, which I thought was a little odd, but you know what, it worked. Monday same thing. More surfing and more hurricane, Marie provided waves and then what do we do? Oh, we went for coffee and breakfast burritos at nowadays in Seal Beach, Lantz Mountain rolled in. So that was kind of cool. Did you say hi to a mat? Did you like walk up to him and like hate Lantz? I didn't. I just looked at him. I was like, yeah, that's him. It's been a long, I mean, you and Lantz Mountain is like the two girls invent it like back home. You know, it's like, look at that, he is his back. Yeah, that's exactly right. Yeah, that was my weekend. All right, Tim, how was your weekend now? Pretty laid back weekend because of the weather and because just kind of tired from all of last week moving two girls. Oh, Kansalo, huh?
Johnny Kansalo. So it's been a lot of time at home and then I got a text from Colin Yee after Friday and he's like, hey man, I'm under the weather. I don't feel good at all. I got to chill. Did he did when he called you? Was the phone ringing? The Japanese news jingled because he was news from Colin Yee. That's my jingle for him and a little smiley picture of Colin Yee every time he calls. And he said, I do not speak English, but I am, is that it? He said he was sick and I should probably not come in studio and sit right across from him at the Dodger pregame. So I stayed home all weekend and did Dodger's pre and post on Saturday, Sunday did pre-imposed. And yesterday did the pre-game show. Spent a lot of time watching TV, just kind of laying around doing nothing and I've got a new favorite channel on. Sitting around and watching tube. You can have your Netflix, you can have your Hulu, you can have your Amazon Prime. I'm gonna go with West, West Entertainment series television. Where do you get that at? We have the spectrum. It's not on direct TV, but it's on other places like Cox Cable, but spectrum's got it.
It's called West, W-E-S-T and it's all Western shows from back of the day, from Maverick, Daniel Boone, have Gun Will Travel. And some say the real joy of the racial and sensitivity of censorship. I think there are disclaimers on many of those shows. Wily entertaining. Laramie. I mean, I might be headed to Laradice this year, guys. I stumbled upon it. I think Thursday or Friday, last week at midnight, the Californians came on. It was filmed in 1958. Is that what they talk about? The get to the find. Oh, yeah. I'm not that kind of a fool. It's filmed in 1958. It's all about San Francisco and a Marshall in the 1840s, before California was California. I wish you were alive. Oh my gosh. I wish I was alive then. I would have been alive. I mean, living my best life back in the 1850s, I've been suffering so much. Shoot whoever I will. I mean, just walk around, shoot. Yeah. But I am in love with West TV from wagon train to Cheyenne to Broken Arrow.
I mean, say all their time. Isn't this position already filled on this show? No, he watches body cams now. I'm in the Western. So be sure. He's every time he teased me. Yeah, I have literally watched every episode of every old show and listened to every radio episode of Jack Benny. You need to tell me I finally got Petros caught up to present day YouTube channels. And now all of a sudden I got Cates watching West TV and Lair. I mean, back to Lair. Tomorrow we're going to have the ghost of Lorne Green online. Yes. I mean, these shows are unreal. The Virginia was on yesterday afternoon. It was on for an hour. I was like, this is the green. We should watch it all the time in the studio on TV. Yeah, where were you? We just had a bit. I wasn't there. I'm an out of all in. I am all in. The Californians from 1958 and 59 could be the greatest TV show ever made. West TV if you want to watch it. It's like me TV. Don't buy the same company. Yeah, I like those channels, but I hate the commercials because they make me feel it's like walk in bath. Yeah, I love the commercial. It's like a huge phone.
Like it's like it's Joe Nameth. Like I can't. I'm old and I can't hear and I'm Joe Nameth. My grandkids, I can't hear them anymore. Well, now you can see what they're saying on the phone. So yeah, it's right there by me TV commercials. I can't take the commercials. I can finally hear my grandkids laugh and play again. That's it. Thank you, Ron. West TV. Ron, how was your weekend? Guys, it was a quiet weekend for myself as well. Saturday, we were up early to give the house a good cleaning. In the afternoon, I went to the supermarket and took some clothes to the dry cleaners. Even had some pants, hem there. Wow. And watch some college foosball on the telly. In the evening time, we went to the end of summer block party in North Hollywood that was organized by KCRW, featuring live music DJs and food booths that were all set up there. They had magnolia boulevard blocked off at Lankership and it was pretty cool. It was a really crowded and we had a great time.
Sunday slept into the music of the rain and stayed indoors all day long doing absolutely nothing and it was great. Got a chance to sleep and that was even better. Yesterday, I was here for a bit and then went home where my son Julian and his wife were visiting with the twins. And I got home and we hung out and they stayed for dinner. Spaghetti dinner. We cooked up and had a great time. Interesting conversation. That was my Labor Day weekend. What about you, Petros? I was in East Lansing, Michigan on Friday. So that was the thing and we called the football game. I enjoyed the time with Pat Fitzgerald. I found him to be genuine and just exactly how you would expect him to be. And he sent us to a little restaurant and that was very nice. And then I got home in the morning from Michigan. I'll travel with smooth and I went to my son's football game at Peninsula High School where we got beat up pretty bad by a team from the Valley. The Valley Fire Hearts, they looked like they were like
18 years old. Yeah, the Valley Strow. Valley Strow. Their heart was on fire and they had a strong desire. Strong desire. He really did. And then I called another football game. Double up. And the New Mexico Central game and that for as exciting as the Michigan State Game was, which it was, because Toledo took a lead in the fourth quarter, this was not that. New Mexico, it might be pretty good. They blew the doors off of Central Michigan in the third quarter. Central Michigan had one yard of offense and no first downs. Hard to win that way. It was shocking. So and then after that, I went for a drink because we have to break in young Carlo to the bar Irish Times in West LA. His spotter didn't come because he's 20 years old. On Sunday, I went to yoga. Finally, I got back to yoga by sister's yoga studio, Kefie Yoga. I spent time after that at the real estate dad's house. While I watched him put up a TV, I watched him hang a TV in his living room.
He'd go all sweaty. Yeah. You didn't help? Like it's a TV's kind of heavy, even when you got to hang him on that. His son was there. His son helped him. I sat there, I drank a cocktail. Did you direct him? Like that a little bit longer? When he carried some stuff back to the garage, I helped him carry his leveler back to the garage. That was nice to you. I thought so. And then on a Monday, I went back to yoga and fed the lizard. And bathed the lizard. I actually took a video of the lizard bath. Yeah, I did see it. Yeah, it was pretty cool. No, I did not. But people asked me to, but I haven't done it yet. Well, I don't know if I will. It's a perfect time. Kate's West TV is available over the air. If you live in Avalon, and I know we have a lot of listeners. In Catalina, yeah, there's no doubt. Well, the same gray hotel mat actually, that we are their soundtrack. They just feed our show. There you go. 24 and seven. They're over there. And you want to tune it into channel 54.4.
At the Zane Gray Inn, you got yourself in West TV. Also, Loonow Larry's from time to time. Sheerah in LA, low wattage, class A 27.2 KSFV is also West TV. How about this, Matt? I forgot to tell you, the guy that travels with Noah Reed, his spotter, this guy, Zach Hoffner. Okay, it lives in Fargo. Where Noah Reed used to live. He married Miss America from Miss North Dakota. He's a play by play guy. His spotter owns 20 pinball machines and a warehouse and puts on pinball tournaments in Fargo. This is in Fargo. In Fargo. I could see that being a very popular activity in Fargo. I can see that. Pinball machines are beautiful. Oh, I'm sure. We spent a long time looking at them on the drive back to Detroit. Do you know if he had Adam's family values? That's kind of the standard.
I'll have to ask him. Get away. West, live on Amel Amelone for free. Right? We'll be back at 4.4. We'll do your word number song of the day and we'll have more great sports talk. Bruce Feltman will join us with the latest in college football. Let's talk about great sports talk. Great sports talk. Mom, are we there yet? 10 more minutes. Only 10 minutes. Can you drive slower? What's up with them today? Lingo kids. That app we downloaded last week. They love it. The games, this funny baby bot character. Kids were almost there. No. With more than 4,000 interactive games, songs, and shows little ones can't get enough of. Lingo kids is the number one entertainment platform for young kids. Why didn't we download this sooner? We made the kids. Everything kids love. Download it for free. PowerSlapped 23 is live and free on YouTube on Thursday, September 17th. Dana White is bringing PowerSlapped to Texas
