InCharge Radio's Podcast — A New Tool for Protecting the Military Community. Machine-transcribed; use the interactive transcript above to jump the player to any line.
Have you ever been a victim of a financial scam that left you broke with nowhere to complain? Well, now there is a new bureau that has the potential to prevent scams from spreading and save service members thousands of dollars. This is a money minute from InCharge Education Foundation and MilitaryMoney.com. The government has rolled out a new tool for the military community to use in their ongoing battle against financial scams that prey on service members, veterans, and their families. Recognizing that this population is often targeted by financial scams, the state attorneys general, and the Department of Defense have created the repeat offenders against military database, or Rome, to track companies and individuals who repeatedly target the military community. One of the missions of the bureau is to coordinate with other federal and state agencies to improve consumer protection for the military community. With agencies across the country reporting scams in their neighborhoods, Rome will be able to investigate and stop frauds that cross state lines. This money minute is made possible by InCharge debt solutions. Visit us online at www.incharge.org
