Scary Stories for Kids Where it's always the spooky season! Full of chills! Thrills! And Spine Tangling Spooks! MicroTerrors are family-friendly rights for those ages 8 and up! And while our stories are for younger years, we are still talking about things that go bump in the night.
And some children may not be able to handle what others can. Parental consent is recommended. Now, for tonight's MicroTerror! T-Rex Blood, written by Tony, age 4. Everyone talked about the T-Rex that lived in a cave. All the parents would tell their kids not to go to the cave. There was a girl named Lily that loved dinosaurs. One night, she went to the cave to see the T-Rex. The T-Rex woke up, Lily screamed and ran away to her home. She said, Mommy! Mommy! Her mom said it's going to be okay. Then they heard roaring sounds, getting closer and closer. The End
Hi, my name is Abby, written by Gwen, age 10. It was two weeks before school and Abby and her friend, Gareth, were walking to the library. On their way, Abby saw a doll and a sign saying, free below it. Abby loved dolls, so she gratefully took the doll and they continued to the library. Get your creepy doll, Abby, said Gareth. I don't think so. It's cute, Abby said. Abby clicked a button behind the doll's head, and the doll said, I, my name is Mr. Stevenson. Abby gasped. That's our math teacher's name, she exclaimed. Didn't he go missing, Abby said? Yeah, with the teachers, just say he got a better job, Gareth said. I don't believe that, said Abby. This doll is kind of creepy now that I think about it. I'll take it, Gareth said. But you just said it was creepy, said Abby. No, I didn't. Gareth replied. Suddenly a bright light came out of the doll.
And when it faded, Abby was gone. And the doll looked like Abby with the same hair, smile and face. Suddenly the doll said, I, my name is Abby. The haunted cruise, written by Millie Lees age 8. It was the first day of the summer holidays. LC, Ben and Jesse were going on a trip to the world's biggest cruise boat. The night before they were too excited to sleep and could hear their parents whispering in the kitchen. Jimmy, their mom muttered, I've just looked up this cruise on TripAdvisor and you wouldn't believe it. Why, what does it say? All these people have written, they saw a giant creature. Wonderful, said Dad, probably a whale. Or a dolphin, said Mom.
I'd love to see dolphins, said Dad. LC rolled her eyes as she lay in bed, listening and thought, dolphins aren't even that big. It's kind of weird though, Mom continued. All these reviews only have one star? It's probably nothing dear. The next day, LC woke up at 8 a.m. and jumped out of bed, yelling to Jesse and Ben. The cruise is today! Everybody had their bags packed, ready to go. Come on, LC, get your bag, said Mom. They drove an hour and a half to get to the cruise terminal. I'm so excited, said Ben. Me too, said Jesse. Me three, said LC. They ran towards the boat and squealed. Each vassue, said Ben. It was white and shiny and huge. The kids knew they were going to have the best holiday. That night at dinner, they had a massive seafood buffet. They ate prawns, crabs, nuggets and chips, and they could go back as many times as they wanted.
By the end of dinner, their tummies were so full. Suddenly, the lights in the buffet restaurant flickered on and off. Then, on again. Then off. Then on again. Then off. And everything was dark. LC grabbed Jesse's arm and screamed. One of the waiters turned on the lights and told everyone not to worry. But the kids felt a bit confused. They went back to their cabin to go to bed. LC whispered to Ben, what do you think was going on with the light? It was probably just a powerful, through something like that, Ben said. They fell asleep, rocking to the waves, until they woke up to a huge crash. The boat rocked and rumbled from side to side, and then they decided to go outside to check the balcony. Their parents were fast asleep, and they sneaked out through the cabin door. On the deck, the waves were crashing loudly and smashing salt spray into their faces. Suddenly, the deck tilted to one side and they all fell over.
Ben screamed, look, Jesse cried. She pointed to a huge black shadow in the water. Maybe it's a whale! LC said, uncertainly. I don't get you, said Ben. At that moment, a dark cloud in the night sky moved so the full moon was shining across the black ocean. Under the light of the moon, LC saw what was in the water, and it wasn't a whale. A huge neon pink squid rose from the surface. Its eyes were red, its mouth was filled with rows of razor sharp teeth and slime dripped from its tentacles. In one of its gross tentacles, it was holding a squealing shark. The kids yelled and hid behind a life-saving ring as the squid started to insert its teeth into the shark's body. The shark screeched in pain. As the kids watched in shock, the squid disappeared right in front of their eyes and then reappeared like it was flashing. Is that thing even real?
Yeld, Ben. I think it's a ghost squid, a muddard LC. Are we dreaming? This is real! Cry Jesse, we need to frighten it off. How about wooden steaks and garlic, like you know's amazing Creeptail books? Asked Ben. That's for vampires. LC cried out. Ben looked thoughtful, and LC knew he was thinking about all the spooky books he liked to read. I read once that if you pour fresh water on a haunted sea creature, it disappears forever. He said, triumphantly. They all figured it was worth a try, so the kids crept into the buffet, which was already set for breakfast the next day. They grabbed a jug of water from the table and ran back to the deck. The shark was twisting and turning, trying to escape. Who's gonna do it? Ben said. They all stared at each other. No one wanted to do it. How about Scissors Paper Rock? Said Ben. They drew. Jesse and Ben were both Scissors, but LC was paper.
Nooo. She cried, feeling afraid. The squid rose up out of the water again. This time it spotted them and lifted one, huge, sliny tentacle toward them. Now yell Jesse. LC knew she had to do it. She lifted the jug of water and threw it at the squid. The squid squealed in horror. It flashed over and over and over again. That had disappeared into thin air. The shark sliding from its mouth and swimming away. That's strange. Said LC. All that shark's bite marks have gone. The sun was slowly starting to rise in the dark sky. We have to get back to our cabin. Said Jesse. Two weeks later, they were back from their holiday. LC was in bed and couldn't sleep as she listened to mom and dad chatting in the kitchen. Her mom was reading trip advisor reviews, like always.
Hey Jimmy. LC heard her mom say, you wouldn't believe it. I've just looked up the cruise on TripAdvisor. And guess what? Every review was five stars. The only bad thing about that cruise said, dad, I didn't see a single dolphin. The end. Thank you all for being such dedicated micro-terrorist listeners.
