I was a telecommunications consultant for ex-ill energy. And in our operations center that was downtown at the time, we controlled the power grid for 12 states. And there was a definite concern that our building was going to get hit and we're going to be taken out. We, as I'm watching the Trade Center towers, go down on the big screen TVs in our ops center, where we getting ready to bug out.

Trying to get in the house, but here we go. Normandy police are investigating a deadly shooting on Smithfield Place. Check out this doorbell camera video they released to the incident. Officers say 42 year old Jody Jordan of St. John forced his way into a home on August 13th.

6:25After being told to leave, officers say he returned and forced his way inside armed with a machine gun style weapon. Officers found him inside the home shot several times. He later died at the hospital. No word on charges yet in this case, but the investigation continues this morning. Oh, you're going to tell us so much more about what he was doing machine gun. Oh, how disappointing. Local news. Number two is here we go. Armed security guard. Acting erratically is the security guard acting erratically or is the person shot? Let's find out. Hey, good morning. Yes, the victim has been identified as 67-year-old Kenneth Williams. He was shot and killed here in Gary Friday night. Now according to Indiana State Police just before 11 p.m. that day, Gary Police and late County Sheriff's officers responded to a call of an armed security officer at the Metro station near Broadway and Fourth Avenue. They say Williams was exhibiting unusual and erratic behavior. Officers tried to de-escalate the situation, but just 20 minutes after they arrived,

7:29there was a confrontation between Williams and the officers that led to an exchange of gunfire. Williams, what's pronounced dead on scene? Indiana State Police say six Gary Police officers and three late County Sheriff's officers fired their weapons. Perstandent protocol, all officers involved are on administrative leave, pending the investigation. And their names will not be released at this time. It's for the family. They are on social media. Expression how they feel. They say they want answers to this. Live hearing Gary, Winnie Dorch, WGN News. Paul Mark goes crazy. That's dope. The police shoot and kill an armed felon. Who? Wait a minute, before we do this one, let me just remind you that there is a rule. Don't attack my deputies. Don't try to stab or shoot my deputies. Because if you do, we're going to shoot you a lot. And you want proof of that? The suspect has been identified and this is the only time that I will report to him by his name.

8:35This Adam Dowdy of Prosperity, South Carolina, he's a white male 33 years of age. He has a criminal history and convictions for disorderly conduct. Miss Laney's criminal offenses, operating motor vehicle under the influence, contempt of court, public intoxication, and possession of a controlled substance, and probation violations. It appears that he may have been out on bond for a family violence, a battery of a first offense out of the cab Georgia, but we're still trying to verify that preliminary information. He has a history of several arrests that span through the following states. South Carolina, Kentucky, Wisconsin, and Georgia. Yeah, you kill a cop. Yeah, I'm probably going to kill you. 9:38starting around 9.30 last night with a report of shots fired near the cross-insurance arena. Police then got a second call about a shirtless man threatening staff at Nova Seafood on commercial street. A manager there told us Hastings asked for water than a shower, then keys to a car. He says a supervisor got him to leave, but he then stole a truck parked outside. I what's unreasonable so far? Shirtless seafood restaurant? What's water? Keys to the car? Is it a full-service restaurant or not? Employees say Hastings lived in a small homeless encampment in Harborview Memorial Park under the ramp to the Casco Bay Bridge. Today we saw officers canvassing the park looking for evidence. After leaving Nova Seafood in a stolen truck, police said they started getting reports of crashes and car jackings at gunpoint. Officers found Hastings on Congress Street and engaged the suspect in a chase as you see in this viewer video. Police said they chased Hastings into the Casco Bay

10:39lines terminal where they crashed the stolen vehicle and ran deeper into the terminal. Police say Hastings didn't follow their orders to surrender and instead reached toward his waste band and they say they then made a motion like he had a gun. Believing he was armed, police officers shot him. Jacob Hastings was pronounced dead at the scene a firearm was later found in one of the suspect stolen vehicles. And police say the three officers involved run administrative leave which is standard practice for a deadly force incident. Now that's a very good shot. Very good. No apologies. No sympathy. You pointed at a gun at a cop. You got shot as an example. We begin with breaking news from overnight. A deadly police shooting is under investigation in Mesa this morning. We're going to head right out to this scene. It's Mesa Drive and Mckellab at North part of Mesa. Are Irene Snyder live with the latest? Good morning, guys. Mesa Drive was close in around 8.30 last night when this call first came out.

14:52Now Mesa Drive is open and we're here near the neighborhood where it all happened. Police say there was a call for help about a man with a gun. And then the end officers were forced to open fire killing that suspect. Investigators say officers were called to the neighborhood near Mesa Drive and Mckellab's road just around 8.30 last night. The caller telling police there was a man who was threatening and displaying a gun in his waistband. When officers arrived at the scene, they tried to get the man to come out, but he would not respond. Police then saw a man over a block wall in the backyard with a gun. It's not clear at this point what exactly happened, but we're told that when officers opened fire, when police and canine officers approached, the man was declared dead. No officers were hurt. The man who was shot has not been identified, but police say this is not the first time they had to deal with him in a situation like this. It should be noted that officers had been out before, reference the same subject for a same type of call for service. There are a lot of questions that I'm sure need to be asked. Right now,

15:54this is an investigation that's ongoing. There is no threat to the community and no injury to officers. Also during the incident, a police vehicle that was in the area responding to the call got into a crash on Mesa Drive. Details about that collision are not clear at this point, but police say the driver of the other car was not involved with the situation that led up to the shooting. And again, here now, we are in the neighborhood taking a look at where this all happened. We did see police looking into one of the back yards here at one of these homes. Gilbert police are going to be the ones investigating the officer involved shooting and Mesa police will continue investigating the call that led up to the shooting. And if you ever think that taxpayer relief shots only involve people say over the age of 30, you might be wrong. We learned a lot of new information about a shooting at the Addison Road Metro Station on Monday. The 19 year old who shot and killed an 18 year old is saying this was self-defense. That 19 year old William Fowles, according to court documents, was sitting on

16:59steps across from the Metro station. And Metro Transit Police reviewed video evidence that shows 18 year old Malik Walker Bay, who ultimately died, apparently approached Fowles first while he was sitting here. Video evidence also shows that at one point Walker Bay went for his waistband. And at that point, Fowles took out his gun and fired first. Now, according to Fowles, Walker Bay was trying to rob him. Walker Bay, after Fowles started firing Adam ran that way into the Metro station, fired shots back in all police recovered 11 shell casings on Monday. Walker Bay ultimately died. Fowles was later arrested on Monday night. We've learned on Tuesday he was released on his own reconnaissance without having to pay any bail money sources are telling us that has to do with the fact that this is being investigated as a possible act of self-defense by Fowles. Still, though, Fowles does not charge with homicide, but he is facing gun charges for of them for

18:03allegedly having a gun. He didn't have a permit for that was loaded on this property here. He's also facing a charge related to fair evasion. All right, sounds like legitimate self-defense. But if you go to exercise your legitimate right of self-defense, make sure you are legally authorized to carry and own the weapon. 23:27Our regional manhunt is over after Anderson County deputies located the man excuse of shooting and killing a Georgia police officer. Well, warn you some of the information you find in the story might be disturbing. Deputy tell us the suspect 23 year old Jimmy Severson took his own life shortly after being pulled over along I 85 near exit 27 on Wednesday. He was a passenger of the vehicle. Took himself out the suspects no longer on the run and can't hurt him. He took himself out. He's no longer on the run. Hmm, seems logical to me. Body Elks. A blue alert was issued for steverson by Georgia authorities earlier on Wednesday. They say the incident that involved warns brief police officer Chris Fisher had happened on Tuesday just before midnight. We are still working to learn more about the investigation from Georgia authorities and any connection between steverson officer Fisher. Of course, we'll keep you updated on air and online as we work more. Yep, ended up DRT on your own. Please shoot and kill a man jumping on cars.

24:30And in Georgetown, police say a man was shot by officers in the town square earlier this afternoon. Witnesses say he was jumping on vehicles in the middle of the street. The Georgetown square, as many of you know, is a busy area on a Saturday. KVU Shay Lawson spoke with people who say they were shaken up by the incident. We want to warn you that part of this video may be hard to watch. The moment a confrontation with Georgetown officers turned deadly. Please say it started just before one Saturday afternoon with calls about a man acting erratically and jumping on cars around Georgetown square. Obviously, very alarming to the people down here. Our officers were dispatched and responded. Georgetown Police Chief Corey Cheetah says the man was confrontational, indicating two officers he had a gun and reaching for his waistband. The officers were able to discern that he did not have a gun in his waistband, but he advanced on to the point that they had to go hands on.

25:35He says the struggle turned violent going to the ground involving at least four officers. That's when the chief says the man tried to pull an officer's gun from his holster. One of the officers fired. First responders took the man to the hospital where he later died. Gunfire on a Saturday in the heart of Georgetown left Diane Hamilton stunned. And our spill town is just confused. This is not what our town's like. It's not. He just started jumping into cars. He eventually jumped into a young woman's car and scared her to the point that she had to run. A nearby business manager says officers were there within moments. From the time we heard about it to the time I actually went outside and saw what was going on for myself. It was very swift. The police chief says a deadly encounter like this is rare in the town square. I've been here 30 years. This is we've never seen this. Hamilton says she feels grief for the man who died and has gratitude for the officers who responded. Thank you from the bottom of my

26:35heart. The Texas Rangers are now leading this investigation. Please have not released the man's identity at this time. And please say the officers involved are being interviewed. I'm shocked. I'll see a woman brings two knives. Chaos at the crossroads of the world Monday around 4.30 pm as police say two officers fatally shot a woman wielding two knives. Tuesday we learned the woman is 49 year old Pamela Cisneros of Queens who has a documented mental health history. We spoke to Mario Cisneros who says he is her father and that she had a master's degree in psychology. He said in Spanish

27:37she did have mental health issues and he didn't know if it was stemming from her divorce but that she was getting an injection once a month because she didn't want to take her medication. Siting is pretty traumatizing for it to happen in front of so many people. The NWPD says tasers were ineffective and that officers spoke with her for four minutes ordering her to drop them but she refused and advanced towards them. Before Cisneros encounter with officers, the NWPD says near West 42nd Street in 7th Avenue she fatally stabbed 32 year old Erin Piacenti of Chester, New Jersey and a 68 year old man who was in the hospital in stable condition. Piacenti's LinkedIn profile says she was a vice president at Bank of America and graduated from Ford and University Law School. A spokesperson told us in part we are heartbroken to learn of the tragic and senseless laws of our alumna, Erin Goultonen Piacenti, Erin and her husband, Frank, graduated in 2021 and have been cherished members of the Ford and Law family.

28:37Just tragic. Police sources say the 68 year old man who is alive was with his wife at the time. They were in from Rhode Island visiting their son in Brooklyn. Sources add there was no prior altercation. Cisneros had roots here in Jacksonite's Queens. The police commissioner said police had previously interacted with her in 2018 and 2019 for mental health incidents. The NWPD says she has no criminal history. The investigation remains ongoing by the NWPD Force investigation division. Come out with knives. We're going to get shot. Great question in the text line. Michael understand in their quotes here legal self-defense. But that last text pay relief shot begs the question. At what age are you legally allowed to defend yourself with specific means? I'd like to hear the legal opinion on that. It's not like the kid did what he needed to do to protect himself. Why limit his means? I'm going to have Dragon play that when again. I don't remember what jurisdiction this is but he must need a permit in that jurisdiction in order to carry because it sounded like he was hit he had the gun in his waistband so he is concealed carrying the gun and probably doesn't have a permit. So he may be completely exonerated and never even charged with manslaughter or second to read murder or anything else because it's self-defense.

31:48He could still face charges though on the gun charges if he was illegally carrying the weapon which is all factual questions subject to one of the rules of that particular jurisdiction are which is a healthy reminder. Don't talk to the cops. How did they know I guess that the videotape show that he reached into his waistband so maybe they know from that. Well go back just to the cops. A little bit just go back to the questions. What age are you allowed to legally defend yourself? Take the weapons and stuff out of it if you know he's 19 and 18. Well you can legally defend yourself at any age. Yeah at any age though the choice by which you choose to defend yourself may have some limitation because of your age. If you're if you're 14 years old and you cannot legally possess a weapon you know unless you're hunting I don't know it again depends on the statutes in that particular jurisdiction but great question and a good catch too. 32:55wow this might be pretty good this might be an award winner of an award winner. The driver in Arizona is being praised as a hero for saving the life of an ambush state trooper. The violence took place early yesterday on an interstate west of Phoenix. Please say a suspect shot a state trooper who had stopped to investigate a car crash. A man driving by came to the troopers rescue and ended up killing the suspect. Numerco Morgan shows us how civilians stepped in to help Numerco. Good morning. Good morning nor the state trooper was in the area after reports. Someone had opened fire at a car driving along the highway when the 27 year veteran trooper ride to the scene. Police say he was ambushed. Hello officer down officer down. I'll thank you for coming. Please. Is that a trillion? Early Thursday morning in Arizona state trooper a ride to the scene of this violent wreck near Phoenix. The officer Edward Anderson found the female victim who had been ejected from the car. She would later die at the hospital. As the trooper exited his vehicle began to lay out flares it appears at this point that he was

33:59ambushed by the suspect. Anderson was shot at least once near the shoulder and suddenly found himself in a fight for his life. The suspect is getting the better of the trooper and is on top of him and striking the troopers head on the pavement. That's what a man on his way to California pulled his car over. The trooper tells the driver he needs help. The passerby grabs the gun from his truck and shoots the attacker after policing the suspect ignored several commands to stand down.
