I'm Lauren Simonetti and this is the Fox Business Report. The major averages are sharply higher in afternoon trading, appearing losses for the week in a tech-led rally. Falling oil prices are boosting market sentiment with West Texas Intermediate Crew dropping below $100 a barrel. An inflation rose in August, jumping 4.10% from July and up significantly from the previous month as gas prices spiked. CPI rose 3.4% on an annual basis. Core CPI, which excludes food and energy rose 3.10% of a percent, while Core CPI for the year rose 2.4%. The slowest pace since March of 2021. The magnificent 7-bit cab tech stocks are climbing led by Alphabet and Apple. Chip stocks are surging on AI build-out optimism and most of the 11 SMD 500 sectors are higher with tech leading the charge while healthcare is lagging. That's your Fox Business Report.
