Hello, magical human and welcome back to the podcast. My name is Madison, I'm a yoga teacher, a mindset and spirituality coach and I am 100% full dedicated to being in tune with nature and guiding other beautiful beings back to nature as well, especially at this time in the world where everything or this disconnection is creating so much hassle, so much drama in the world, so many problems. Really, our solution is to go back home. So that is my aim is to help walk you home as well. I am currently walking home, we're always walking home and is my hope that I can hold your hand along the way and guide you alongside me. So for this episode today, we're going to go over
five ways you can become more in tune with nature right now. Before we jump into this episode, I wanted to let you know that I learnt something really beautiful from long trips on the road and I think it's valuable, I believe it's valuable. I've been doing a lot of traveling lately, me and my partner, we've been on the road a lot, I've been going to do talks around Australia and it's not even that far, if you look at it on the map, it doesn't look like it's that far, it's not like I'm going from one side of Australia to the other, but we're talking about 12 hour drives one day and it has been insane. So on Thursday, it's now Tuesday today, on Thursday, we drove 12 hours all the way up to the sunshine coast, so overstate border and I did a beautiful talk at the Conscious Life Festival, which was so much fun, it was the biggest talk I've ever done, and quite scary, quite overwhelming. The festival itself was pretty cool and the talks were just
like you just walk in, you start your talk and people everywhere and it was just a little bit overwhelming and I definitely had that moment just before you go and do something crazy, where you're like, am I really going to do this? No, and thank goodness for my partner, he was very much like you're doing this, you know, you want to do this. And that nervousness only lasted like two minutes and then I was in, I loved this crowd, it was so much fun to be able to speak. And yeah, I met some amazing people and if you were there, I know some of you have jumped on and said, listen to the podcast, hello, so good to have actually spoken in person, I've been podcasting for over five years and when I get to be in person speaking, it is just phenomenal, it feels unreal, even though I do, you know, do podcasting it so much fun. I'm literally like, I'm doing a video podcast right now, just looking at myself, looking to myself and then you people have listened to it later, which is great, but it can be really, yeah, lonely at times and when you actually get in front of, you know, so many people, it's like, wow, okay, this is insane. So
I did a great talk and it was so much fun and I just flowed through so beautifully, I really allowed the talk to just be me trusting myself, I know my information, I know what's going to help people, let's just roll and it worked out really beautifully. So forever grateful to the universe for sending me that opportunity, but the driving, oh my goodness, so Thursday we did 12 hours and then on yesterday, we did another 12. Now this is like, this is in a span of like, on a Friday, we did, yeah, it was Friday, we did 12 hours, so it was literally like two days break and then another 12. It was insane and something that's so interesting with driving, especially long distances, like I like driving, I don't have a problem with it, but sometimes there gets to be a point where I don't know where it, maybe it's like the five hour mark, you just start losing it and you're like, I can't do this anymore and you just hit this wall where you're like, I don't want to have to do this anymore and it reminds me so much of life, you know, when you're in a situation where you,
whether you're in pain or, you know, you have to have a conversation with someone or you're in an uncomfortable situation where you're just like, I just can't do this thing anymore, I just cannot go on even though you kind of have to, even though it's like, well, you have to and that kind of, I think for me, feeling like I have to go on and do something difficult, it makes me repulse even more. I'm like, oh, this is a horrible thing that I have to do and for me, it was a lot about reframing that. When you start to hit that wall of like, I can't go on, I can't keep doing this, this is so hard, this is so boring, you know, I've got aches and pains in my body, you know, I've got this, I've got that, it's actually choosing to bring in these practices that we talk about all the time in those moments, choosing to focus on the breath to, for me, I put on a shark to your headband, it feels so good, right? It's just spikes all over your forehead, it feels amazing, you know, like actually just getting out of the car, doing a downward dog, doing five minutes meditation and just affirming, smiling, you know, and just kind of even get out of the car and
just shake it off a little bit, you know, the thing with car trips and the reason that starts to feel so horrible is because you are so stationary and so still and we're just not made for that, so if you can get out of the seat, jump around, do a car, we'll do a handstand, do a downward dog, do something to kind of shake off the body, you're going to find your, your energy is rejuvenated, because you've got to get that river of life moving, so it was just so amazing, you know, I feel like I even said to my partner when we're almost home, I just said, you know, it's so weird, but I feel like driving and these long stints of driving is actually making me a stronger person, because it's just something, you know, it seems like it's not a big deal, but 12 hours in one day is massive, it's massive, especially when you don't know where you're going and you're just listening to maps the whole way and it's, it's a lot and when you get on those roads, for me the worst thing is when you get on a long straight road and it says continue for 400 kilometers and you're like, oh my god, it's four hours without even a turn to interest me, like it's just so
difficult and you notice yourself going in and out of concentration and it's just, it really does make you a stronger person, full respect for truck drivers, that is insane, kind of since I really do think it is such a, it can be something that either really destroys you or something that teaches you something about your body and about your mind, so phenomenal stuff, but if you're in a situation ever where you feel like you can't go on, it's okay to take a break, it's okay to ease off for a second, but believe in yourself and bring in your practices then, yes, I can do this, you know, positive affirmations, all of those things because it is so valuable. Just going to stop this, I don't know what this looks like on the camera, if you're listening to this, it looks like orange juice, I guess, it looks like orange juice with a bit of oomph to it. This is natural electrolyte, so you can make it home and I found it from, I don't know how to say it, I don't know if it's gaba, gaba, don't know, homestead, I'll tag her below, she's an incredible Instagram account, I absolutely love her, I'll tag her below, I don't know where she got it from, if she made it up,
it's freaking awesome, it's made me feel so good, I'm going to even put the recipe below for you, because you will love it, it's so simple and it feels so good, give it a try, check out the account that I tag below because she's just phenomenal, I love it when Instagram gives you something and you try it and it works and it's like, yes, this is awesome, so highly recommend, it is absolutely delicious and I've never felt more freaking hydrated ever. It's just amazing, I'm in this era of letting go of all these things that are not natural and it's so funny when you've been buying electrolytes for years, like look at me drinking electrolytes and then you realize you're drinking black car and electrolytes and they don't even put the ingredients on the back and it tastes like sugar and it's like what is this and then when you make it yourself and you realize that nature provides and you don't have to buy artificial electrolytes, it's a constant period of awakening, this return to nature it really is and you just realize over and over again like wow, I'm so disconnected you know and it's good because you just
keep taking baby steps and it just feels so good. So wherever you are at in your journey and this episode today is definitely going to maybe make you think of things you haven't thought of before baby steps, you don't have to be perfect, you'll never be perfect, just one step at a time, each step makes a huge difference. Let's jump in, five ways you can become more in tune with nature. Number one, we're going to go over a tip for physical body, a way you can come more in tune with nature in reference to the physical body. So what you can do for your physical body is start to check what's going in your body, what's going on your body and what's going around your body. Start to become a label nerd, start to look into things, your body has to obviously deal with everything you put in it, it has to put, it has to deal with everything you put on it, creams, cleanses, clothes and it has to deal with the things you put around it as in poison in the air,
chemicals that you spray to clean your bathroom or whatever it is, you know, you have to deal with all those things and more. So we want those things to be as low tox as possible and right now we're living in a world where people will eat junk food, you know, eat crazy amounts of sugar, chocolate, you know, drink alcohol, drink coffee, all these things, eat the same old boring meal that probably came from the same old boring supermarket and then you're, you know, you're wearing clothes that have got, you know, plastic in them and all kinds of toxic dyes and things like that and then you're spraying and cleaning your house with these great super cleaners that are just filled with chemicals and you're breathing that in. There is so much chemicals around you and you may have no idea why you always have an itchy, you know, elbow, you know, you always have dry eyes, you always, you know, you ask my flares up, you know, you've got all these weird little allergy things, you know, why do I always get this? Why do I always get that? Why do I have brain fog? Why am I so dull
all the time? You know, you'd be surprised when you start to cut some of these things out, the difference it makes and I don't think you'll really believe me until you actually try it yourself. I encourage you to read the labels and not only on the things that you're reading but on the things that you're putting on your body, the things that have skin contact with your body, the things that you're cleaning your house with, the things that are in your house, your bed sheets, everything and start to get rid of things that are really bad, you know, things that are just really not good, donate them, sell them whatever, gift them, find, get rid of them and when you go and purchase something, make sure it's something that's pure, that's as close to nature as you can possibly get because that is going to have so much benefit for you and it's going to bring you more in tune with nature. The second thing you can do to help your connection to nature in terms of mentality, mind, that kind of thing is to mind the mind's consumption, mind the mind's consumption. Yes, you heard that correctly. Be careful of what you're getting the mind to consume,
be really careful because your body is consuming but your mind is also consuming, except your mind consumes information. It consumes information about stuff, okay? So we want to avoid as much consumption as we can in terms of the mind, the mind needs peace, the mind needs moments of stillness, the mind needs time to be quiet. Same as your gut, you know, fasting is great for your gut because it gives your gut a break. Your mind also needs a break. So try your very best to get rid of things that are just mind noise, you know, music that isn't aligned with the peace and the love of nature, you know, books that aren't aligned with the highest good, you know, get rid of, you know, TV shows and movies, you know, get rid of all of it as best you can because that's just not what nature does. Does nature stare at a TV with, you know, box of popcorn and that's lapped us with this dead look at the TV? No, you know, we're more in tune than that. So I know it's
a big deal to start to limit mental consumption because now we're looking at apps, we're looking at how you're using your screen time, but I highly recommend that you start to cleanse that area. Again, you have no idea how much that is holding you back and holding you down and holding you heavy. Try reducing it or getting rid of it all together and see how you go. I've just quit coffee over the last week. I love coffee. It was the only thing that I had. I'd never drunk. I never got drunk, you know, I never did those things. Coffee was my only vice and I actually just attended a couple of lectures, heard that coffee's really not that good for you and I went, you know what, that's the final straw for me. I'm out and now my partner and I are drinking rose cacao in the morning and it is beautiful and I look forward to it so so much. It's not easy to stop doing something that has been part of your routine and that you really enjoy, but I know it's worth it in the long run so as long as you've got a strong why, it'll be easy for you. Number three, we're looking at an emotional tip now and that one is to allow yourself to feel all the feelings that are available
to you as human beings. All of the feelings you can feel unnatural, they all come from nature, you're okay to feel them, you're strong enough to feel them, but also don't hold on to them because something nature never does is hold on. Nature's never holding onto the leaves, it doesn't want to let go of them or it's autumn, I don't want to let go of my leaves, I've been growing them for so long, you never hear nature doing that, she just let's go, she let's go. So take note from nature, you can welcome in challenging things, challenging moments, feel the feelings and then let them go, okay, your emotions are often paired with the water element and that's because they need to be free-flowing. You can't block a dam from falling and you can't stop a river from moving, you can't contain water for too long, you've got to let it go. So try and keep yourself emotionally clean, emotionally flowing, let things in, let things out, try not to hold on to anything, it'll become stagnant, it'll make a home in the body and that's where we start to see dis-ease form as we heard
in one of the previous episodes about the lymphatic system, go and check it out if you didn't listen to that one already, it's pretty awesome and yeah, just less than the resistance on your emotions. Tip number four, environmental tip, low, tox, environment. The typical house life that we tend to see and this is typical in Australia, I don't know about anywhere else, I call them Lego houses, my mum calls them Lego houses, the houses that they all look the exact same, they pop up in five seconds so you can imagine the quality, they all look the same, they're all boring, gray and white and the interior is always the same and everyone has the same cheap shop, knick-knacks, all over the house that mean nothing, just clutter, just stuff. Now your environment and your home is a place you go to heal, it's your moment to retreat, when we were living out in nature, we might have had a cave or something and that would have been our retreat moment, being a safe place.
If your home is cluttered with plastic and rubbish and it's made with zero creativity or joy and there's just no plants or no anything there, then what are you creating for yourself? Nature is something to invite in the home, she is something to use as inspiration when you're creating a home and if you have to live in a house that is a typical Lego house is what I call it, do your very best to welcome the plants in, as you can see I have here, bring the plants inside, limit your junk, just have things that you use or you find to be something that's really beautiful, you know just have those things because that's ultimately going to serve you the most, all the knick-knacks that you get from all these cheap shops that are made in bulk and everyone has that same thing, it's gross, it's gross, it just is and it does not align with nature,
so stay away from decorating places that are bulk, that are you know just getting as many of these things out as they can, you know and try and steer more towards your local hand crafted, you know sustainable places, try and stay away from all the places that are bulk and just focused on profit because that is the exact place where nature is forgotten about, so try and make that be the most important thing for you. Tip number five and this is a spiritual tip, let the trees speak, let nature speak to you and in order to do that you need to spend time in nature and you need to be quiet with no ear phones, I was going to say ear pods, no ear anything, not listening to anything just being quiet and in tune and just and if you don't know where to start with that you feel weird, probably as a sign you need to do it more, just go out into nature
and listen and just see what happens and it might take a few times before you start to hear but give yourself a minute, give yourself time to unravel and let go of the busyness and you will hear and that is the greatest teacher you'll ever find out in nature but she's not going to scream at you, you've got to go and sit quietly with her and wait, show her that you're willing to learn, and to listen. Thank you, if you enjoyed this episode please share it with someone that you love, share it on your Instagram stories and tag me, I'd love to see, I'd love to connect with you, I'd love to check you out and send you a message and say thank you, I really appreciate all the time that you spend listening and the learning that we do here together, if you would like to go deeper and become more in tune with nature, if you're finding that you're living with a lot of dis-ease in the body, you know, a lot of pain, you know, you're feeling a lot of brain fog and
just a lot of anxiety and stress and life's just feeling harder than it feels beautiful, this is your calling, I've been there, I still get there sometimes and I know that the answer is always to return to nature, to return to peace, so if you would like a whole hour worth of workshop, where we go over these five elements, the physical, mental, emotional, environmental, spiritual, we go into everything you need to consider, everything, it's kept very relaxed, there's no stress, there's never a million things to change, but it heaps a great information about how you can start to change your relationship with yourself and with life, because we've been raised in a world that promotes this busyness, this suit and tie, this synthetic, plastic, fake world, and now we need to get out of it, so this is your opportunity to invest in yourself and go and learn a few things that's going to help you, okay, you can go and find all this
on your own, it's all information out there, none of it is purely mine, it's from years of learning and relearning and I consolidated all for you in an hour workshop with the notes, with recommendations with homework, all the things, so you can go below, click the link below and go and purchase naturally in June the workshop, there's no time limit on it, you've got it, go and watch it and I also give you my email and all of that so you're always welcome to message, I'm here to support you, go and invest in yourself and let's create a world that is more naturally in June, thank you for being here beautiful soul, I'll see you in the next episode, love
