368: What Happened to Valentino Dixon?

About this episode

On August 10, 1991, 17-year-old Torriano Jackson was shot and killed in front of 100 people on the East side of Buffalo, New York. Valentino Dixon was quickly arrested, charged, and convicted of the crime, even though numerous eye witnesses came forward to say that he wasn't the shooter. It would take decades to prove his innocence. And what Valentino accomplished in that time--in New York's infamous Attica prison--would inspire the likes of President Obama to take notice of his resilience and artistic genius.
