On March 10th, here's the latest out-of-lester. Plans to build more than 170 homes in wetstone are expected to get the green light soon. The two sites sit on either side of Springwell Lane, including 115 houses to the west and 59 to the east. David Wilson Homes scaled back the eastern project from 69 homes to 59. Meanwhile, Miller Homes is leading the bigger western development. Dozens of locals have objected, but council officers argue the upsides beat the downsides. Most hedgerows and mature trees will stay with new ones added to. The plans include 14 affordable homes on the east side and 29 on the west. Developers will chip in for upgrades at Cosby Library and the Wetstone Recycling Center. Blavy District Council's Planning Committee meets March 12th to decide following a strong recommendation for approval. We'd like to thank our sponsor for making this episode possible. Press play.
