1627 - Frozen Chips, Weird Snacks, and What's Really in Your Camera Roll?

Roz & Mocha

About this episode

From frozen chips and tuna nachos to canned prunes with milk, things get weird when we reveal our unconventional snack habits. Plus, we tackle “little man syndrome,” debate whether on-air personalities are the same off the air, discuss the songs that get permanently stuck in our heads, and answer whether we'd rather have our search history or camera roll exposed for the world to see

If you're both of you guys, that's so funny man. Congratulations Lisa! Wow!

She just won a thousand dollars. That is amazing. Y'all just made my entire morning. Keep it up. You guys are awesome, man. This is the Ross and Mocha Show Podcast. Ross and Mocha's DM, Deep Dive. Our DM is where all the weird **** lives. Yes, on the 17th anniversary of the Ross and Mocha Show. We present now the DM Deep Dive. Chloe, what do we got in the DMs today? Dom asks, what's your go-to snack that is less conventional? Mind throwing a Lazy Sultan vinegar bag in the deep freeze and popping it open on a hot summer day. Remember, try that. Chips out of the freezer? Oh yeah, I've heard people do that. They taste amazing. Really? Really? Like it enhances the flavor. But when they start to defrost, they don't stay crispy though. They would go soft. Yeah, they'd be soggy. Yeah, so eat quick. You have to eat them quick. Yeah, like a small bag. Oh. Does anybody have like a small conventional snack? I just started doing this because we found it on social where you cut up a banana, dip it in blueberry yogurt,

and then freeze it, and then you have like a sort of like, I guess, a crunchy blueberry banana. Oh. It's really good. Yeah. What? It's banana yogurt. I forgot. Lost doesn't like. But yeah, but hold on. Frozen banana is not regular banana. It's not a matter. Banana and yogurt. Two horrific things. All right. Cool snack, bro. Yeah. Sham, you got one? I can't think of anything really unconventional outside of that. I'll put like black pepper on my mango. No, no, I just thought really unconventional though, right? No, I've seen like my mom will put salt, right? Either salt on a mango or just pepper sauce. Yeah. Mix it with mango. Pepper sauce on more than that. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I don't really have much. The one thing I will do is that I'll take whatever leftovers are in the fridge, right? Like, what did I have? I had a little bit of leftover shepherds pie meat. And I had a half a piece of chicken.

And I had a slice of pizza, a small slice of pizza. And I cut the pizza up into little squares. And I put everything into a pan, because it wasn't much of anything. I put it all into a frying pan. And I heated it all together. So the little chunks of pizza, the pieces of chicken, and the shepherds pie meat. And then I cracked two eggs, and I put it in there. And I make like one big giant scramble with whatever leftovers were in the fridge. And then I put it in a bowl and I eat it. Usually, doesn't mean that like, if I just take a bunch of stuff, that's in the fridge. And I just stack all the on a plate. I just call that like my green bin. Yeah, no question. But make it into scrambled eggs though. Take it all and turn it into one new thing. Oh, okay. Yeah, yeah. And then stick it in a bowl. Let me tell you my dad's canned prunes with milk. Don't tell us your dad's. I don't want I don't need to know that about Frank. You might as well. You could drink that while sitting on the toilet. What else we got in the DMV jobs today, Chloe? Smith DM'd to the short kings on the show,

no, about little man syndrome. And do you guys think any of the short men on the show have little man syndrome when not at work? Mori, go ahead and answer. What's the hell with short men syndrome? Directed a young. What is it like you feel sorry for yourself? No, it's basically when you overcompensate for your height and your personality, you're just very like almost like cocky, I guess, in a way. Oh, Mori, for sure. I don't think I'm cocky about my height. I'm just cocky. Right, but that's what it is. So you're not cocky about your height because you're overcompensating. Like if you were six, too, would you be this cocky? I don't know. It's the social stereotypes that just make shorter men act overly aggressive and dominant to make that kind of a fight. Yeah, I guess. Oh, hold on now. I'm not sure. Hold on now. Overaggressive and dominant earring. Definitely, Mori. If you listen to the show, okay, not you at all. Okay, I think we can move on. Yeah, that's much better. Ross and Lopez DM, deep dive. When you have nothing to say, why do you always say to us?

Look at that. New month. It is September 1st. Welcome to it. This is the DM deep dive. And deep dive, the DMs that you send into us anytime you slide in. Chloe sees those DMs and brings them to the radio. Chloe, what do we got in the DMs today? Senaz asks, have you ever run over an animal while driving? I recently ran over Roadkill and it was traumatizing. I can't imagine how it would feel to cause Roadkill. Yes. I got a couple of times. But the worst one was we were driving like in the neighborhood. And I turned a corner and I hit a pigeon, ran over a pigeon. I know. And then the girls were in the truck with me and I was like, whoa, I think I just hit a pigeon. And then I looked at my rear view and I was like, yeah, I totally just ran over a pigeon. And then they were like, no, no, no, you didn't, you're lying. And I'm like, I'm not lying. Like, why would you lie about that? I'm like, I'm not lying about it. I wasn't proud of it. I was just telling you what happened. The pigeon just came out of nowhere and got under my tire.

And so they were telling me that I was a liar. And so I went around the block and then I went back down the street. And so they can see it. And that was the worst thing I could have done. I should have just kept driving. Yeah, absolutely. Because then I became a pigeon murderer and then somebody on my street, you know, Catherine's baby raccoons, right, that she cares for in loves and feeds and everything else. So somebody hit one, like some, the one of them got hit by a car last week. And it died. And it died on the sidewalk right in front of our house. Oh my God. Right. And then, and then so I came, I came home and I'm trying to pull into the driveway. And I was like, oh my God, I can't get into the driveway. And then I get out and the dead raccoon is there. Right. And then it just got flies on and stuff. And then they already called the city to come and get it. So then my brother comes out and he goes and gets a snow shovel from the alley. And he just scoops it down the sidewalk like three feet. So I can, so I can get it. The Catherine's yet. No, thank God. Did she know that she knew she's the one that took a picture of it and sent it to me while I was here doing the show.

Yeah, I mean, I've hit like raccoons and squirrels. Oh my God, there was one day. So we were in PEI recently. Yeah. And thank God Jenna didn't notice and our son of Cruz did not notice. But I hit a bird while it was like mid to wheeler with the front of the car, the front of the car. Like the bird like did this weird zigzag across like the road and went dip down a little bit. And then it hit like the front of my car. And then I could see it in the rear view just like on the ground. See a wing up in the air. And I was like, I couldn't say anything. Yeah, that was the last one. Next DM please. Golly. Frank says I feel like I've rossed some credit for something. I've been listening to the show since the beginning. And now whenever someone says or asks me to do something a rich person would do, I automatically respond with, what am I? The mayor. I want to think Ross, that great revival. It's permanently part of my vocabulary. However, I think the tone and the way it's being said needs to be, I'm sure that this person says it in the way that Ross says it.

So if you can remind everyone how your clothes are. So this was my kid, right? So it started with my kid because we passed, we were driving somewhere and we passed like some ungodly, enormous house when Roxy was little. And she was like, whoa, who lives in there? The mayor, right? Because she just assumed the mayor, like was of course a bajillionaire and they live in big giant mansions, right? And then it was after that any time somebody would say something or like, you know, they would talk to you a certain way or whatever, I would always go and she would always go, what am I? The mayor? Right? And then that's how that started was actually my kid assuming that all mayors are rich. But then now we just say it over everything, right? And again, you say it how? What am I? The mayor? Okay, so put it this way. We were, Catherine and I were looking at new dishwashers, right? And there was one that was like $300 more than the other one. And I go, we can get this one or we can get this one and she goes, what are you? The mayor?

I love it. One more DM please, Chloe. Okay, Rashmi says, can you guys start playing Miyadoku? Oh, Miyadoku? Miyadoku? What's that? So you know that game, Sadoku? Yeah. So it's that. I don't know how to play it, I don't understand it. Yeah, so it's that game except with cats. Like you're supposed to match the cats and the colors or something like that. Oh, but. It sounds terrible. I mean, we're the same as Sadoku, right? Yeah, like I've seen it before and I'm laugh, I don't know. No, I'm not. I ain't got time for that. Love you, Rashmi, but like does that aid in it for me? No, I'm not playing that game. No, no. But we do accept all of your DMs, so keep them coming in, any of the DMs that you send to any of the kids social accounts, make their way over to Chloe and she brings them to the show whether it's a comment or a question, anything like that. Just send them through and we'll get to them eventually. Thank you, Chloe. What am I, the mayor? Ross and Lucas DM, DJI. I regret this already. So the DMs that you send into us, whether it's a comment or a question, anything like that,

we'll eventually make it onto the show. Chloe gets them and organizes them for us. Chloe, what do we got in the DMs? Savannah says, do you guys like your names? If you could, would you change them and what too? Mori. I mean, I'm used to my first name. I hate my middle name. Samuel, why? Yeah, I don't know. It just, to me, it sounds very unsexy, no offense. And you think, Mori? It's sparse. But I've gotten used to hearing it. Like if my first name was Samuel, I'd get used to that, but I'm used to Mori. But who calls you Samuel? No one. No one. He just doesn't like it. I just don't like it. Do you just don't tell people that you've been lame for a long time? I mean, if I'm in trouble, Matthew will use it. Would you say Mori is one of the least sexy names that you could be given? No. What's the, what's the less sexy than Mori? Like Daniel? No. No. Daniel? No. Yo, how are you going to diss your brother like that? Well, it's not my fault. He's named Daniel. No. No, I'm going to go to the other side. Okay. Chloe, Chloe, Daniel or Mori? Which sexier? Yes.

Daniel's way superior. No, hold on. You're asking it wrong. You're asking it wrong. Daniel or Mori, not me, Mori? No, no, no, no. The, just the name. Yeah. Daniel's way sexier. Way sexier. Way sexier. No, but you have me in your head. No, I don't. Mori's, I'm sorry, but it's not a sexy name. No, because you have to say it. It's sensually, right? You can't. You thank you. This is what I'm saying. What about, okay, what about like Mo? Nobody. Mo! Gross. Okay. I just googled, is the name Mori unsexy? Yes. Whether the name Mori is unsexy depends entirely on personal taste. But most people view names as having very little influence on a person's actual appeal. That's not true. The vibe. Mori sounds vintage, cozy and casual. No, often a nickname for Maurice or Maureen. No. No. Don't you dare. Don't you dare. Give it Maureen. Yeah. No, no, no. No, no, no. Mori is the one of the least sexy names a kid can have or a person can have. He is the eye like my name. I love my name. Yeah. Yeah.

Chloe, are you happy with yours? Yeah. Don't think I don't like about it. Is that it's so common? Sure. So maybe I would change it. I don't know. Well, you change it too though. Yeah. So my mom was between two names. It was either Chloe or Ariadne. Ariadne? Super unique. Wow. And I think that'd be kind of cool to have a unique name that no one would know of. But you have to pronounce it. You sound like one of the blue things from Avatar. But it would be pronounced like Ariadne. Yeah, probably. Like that. Because I would tell you. Yeah. Or I think it's Greek actually, but I don't know. Yeah. Shem. No, I didn't like my name up until age 16. Yeah. Sorry. Yeah, I really hated it for a long time. I think I've told the story before on the show where I was supposed to be named Duane and that up until the 11th hour my mom changed the name to Shem Roy because I have a cousin named D. Roy. And then I also learned that I have a cousin named Shem Roy, who's named Shem Roy's before me. We had that. We had that on the show. Yeah. From my birthday, Morgan, I'm touching my cousin Shem Roy. On my mistake. Yeah. That's right. That's my favorite. It says one family with one D. Roy and two Shem Roy.

What else we got today? Nick says I've heard Ross say on past shows he doesn't have a smart TV. However, he will also say he plugs a fire stick into his TV, which effectively makes it a smart TV. Do the other members of the show agree there's no difference to Ross and Ross's TV isn't as dumb as he lets on. Well, no, I think that just having a USB port doesn't make it a smart TV. A smart TV has like the apps on it. But if you have a fire stick, you're putting a bunch of software onto the TV, which makes it a smart TV. In my opinion. I would say that the fire stick is more in line with what like the old Apple TV. The old TV box used to be. It's very utilitarian where smart TVs, you can incorporate them into your life, right? Which my fire stick cannot do that. Or if it can, I don't do that with it. That's like saying I have to have a computer like I need Wi-Fi, right? That's all I use fire stick for. I use it for no other features other than clicking on Netflix, clicking on Apple TV.

That's it. Sure that you can do other stuff with Fire TV. I do not. I know we talked a lot about dishwasher this week on the show. But I was looking for a new dishwasher and I went to look for one and I opened the door and it had the little Wi-Fi symbol on it on the dishwasher. Oh, really? It was a great dishwasher at a great price and I looked at the guy and I was like, I cannot buy this. He's like, why not? I'm like, if I bring a dishwasher home that my wife opens the door and sees the Wi-Fi symbol on it that I can connect my dishwasher to Wi-Fi, she will tell me to bring it back. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So I had to get a more expensive dishwasher that doesn't have Wi-Fi. But you could have been on the couch and started it from your phone. Thank you. Or I could just walk up and do it. It was a button, man. Thank you. All right. Next, Dea. Alexandra, Dea, and we all know Radio hosts build on our personalities. Are you the same person off the air as on the radio? Yes. I would say so. I think all of us are the exact same. I wouldn't say the exact same. I wouldn't say the exact same. No?

No. Okay, how are you different then off the radio, Chloe? I don't think I'm that different. I do think that when you're on air, you play things up a little bit sometimes. But I don't change my personality. Mm. Ross? Yeah. Because you're slightly different. What you hear is what you get. No, I think I'm probably nicer on the radio. Damn. How are you off the radio? Mori? I'd say Mori is the same. Yeah. On and off the radio. I'm a champ. Yeah, for sure. All right. These are the DMs that you are sending in to us. So keep them coming in. Love talking about them. Thank you, Chloe. Thanks, guys. Ross and Locus DM, Deive. You wouldn't say that to your mama. So why us? Yes, let's get right into it. The DMs that you send in to us will eventually make it onto the show. Chloe, what do we got in the DMs today? Sabrina asks, what's an embarrassing thing that's happened to you while the mic was accidentally on and live on radio? Oh.

I don't really have anything. I don't know. 17 years? Nothing's ever serious. No, no, no, no, but even just the question, like, because what is embarrassing is completely subjective to the individual, right? Like I rarely get embarrassed over things. I had one of the things that happened when we were live doing an interview. We were interviewing Carly Rae Jepsen years ago. And I immediately almost blacked out and threw up during the interview while we were live because I got kidney stones. Oh, my goodness. And so my kidney stone started moving. I didn't even know I had them. It felt like I got shot during the interview and made my way like we finished the interview and did a picture afterwards. And then I took a cab home. I flopped on the couch and the catheter called an ambulance. Oh, my gosh. That's how much pain I was in. So that happened. And you don't even remember the interview, right? I've no memory of the interview whatsoever.

But I wouldn't say that that's embarrassing. But it's not embarrassing. I think that the most embarrassing thing that has ever happened internally on the show was years ago, there was a video that went viral of a dad in the delivery room with his wife, right? And the, says that the sonogram thing was beeping, right? And the dad was wrapping along to it, right? And it went super viral and it was adorable. It was this dad talking about his pregnant wife and the baby and he was wrapping along to it. And we did an interview with the, with the dad, like after the, after the baby came out and it was like really sweet and endearing and everything else. And what we do when we have these big interviews is we'll send them to all the stations across the country, right? And we'll send the clips to all the stations across the country. And Mori put it all together and he sent it out and in the subject line that went to every single person who works in radio for the, across the entire country was, Ross and Moka

do heartfelt interview with the raping dad. Oh my God. Instead of wrapping dad. It was the subject line that we did a heartfelt interview. It was a exclusive heartfelt interview with the raping dad. Yeah, oops. Oh God. Oh my God. Oh, yeah, this guy. Oh, yeah, this guy. Heart, mama. Oh, it's okay. Yeah, mama. It's okay. Oh. Oh, that's a tremendous. Duh, lady. Servix. What you doing? What you doing? Servix. Have a baby. Heart, mama. Oh, my God. Oh my God. Oh, that's the, that's the, that's the, that's the rapping dad. Oh, let's move on with the DMD dive. Shall we have a baby? Servix. Kyle, DM, would you rather have your search history displayed on a billboard in your hometown or have your camera roll displayed at your workplace? So let's put two caveats in here. Okay. The search history includes private browsing.

Yep. And your camera roll includes your recently deleted folder. Yep. Yep. Yep. Okay. Good either way. I don't have anything really. I mean, both either search history or camera roll, it's either going to be stuff about wrestling or stuff about like sneakers or stuff like I'm looking up for the show or that has to deal with the show or like photography stuff. I'm going to say my camera roll because I don't take anything that's inappropriate ever. Same. Like I just don't. I just don't. Okay. My search history though, like, because if it's taken at a context, because like, you know me, right? Like I spent a lot of time, like I'll just sit and, you know, like read about World War Two, right? So like I've searched the name Hitler before. Oh my God. Really? But you just searched that, right? Because the other day I was like, I couldn't remember where Hitler died, right? So I'm just like I was trying to watch some documentary and it fell asleep the night

before. And I was like, God, I couldn't remember where the bunker was that he died. And so I searched that up, right? But also do you use AI at all to search for things? No, no. No. No. So AI. It doesn't go go use AI now anyway. I guess it does. But like, so when I search, like if I have to get something super, super, super, hyper detailed, because everybody sort of has their own, like my brother is a Grock guy. Some people are chat GPT. I know climax is chat GPT. Yes. And we are clawed. Oh, you're clawed. I'm clawed. But the reason I would not want that ever revealed was because when I searched for something on Google, I'm very matter of fact. But I realized that when I ask clawed a question, I'll write like, Hey man. I'm like, Hey man, I'm looking for this thing that I saw. You think you can help me out with that and with some links and everything else? Like it's very common. Like I write paragraphs of things and to clawed. I was like, you got to fan. And when he writes back, he's like, don't worry, I got you. And do you say thank you?

I for sure say thank you. I don't know where he is. Like it's really embarrassing. But because of the way that the communication works with clawed, it's very conversational, right? So it was clawed now part of your group chat with Frank and Carl. And that ladies and gentlemen is how we will end today's DMD time. This is what I would not want seen. I was doing some work on clawed the other day where he sent back something that I wasn't looking for. And to clarify, I said, sorry man, what I meant was. No. Yeah. You have a friend. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Ross and Mocus DM deep dive. Getting a business seems easy until influencers, Reddit and AI give different advice. Legal Zoom helps get it right the first time. Visit today. Legal Zoom provides access to independent attorneys and self-service tools. Legal Zoom is not a law firm. It does not provide legal advice.

Ross and Mocus DM deep dive. You wouldn't say that to your mama. So why us? Let's get right to it, shall we? You know how the DMD dive works. The DMs that you send into us make their way to Chloe who then brings them to the show for us to discuss. Chloe, what do we got in the DMs today? Serena asks, what's something about you that sounds fake but is 100% true? Oh, somebody said this to me the other day. The fact that I said recently that I've never had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Yeah, does something. Somebody was like, there's no way as a child you never had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. If your mom never had a peanut butter or jelly in the house, we're even in the butter. Yeah. Okay. But not like just out of convenience, just say, no. No. I'm going to make this as a quick snack for you guys for lunch or anything. And the other thing I will say is that over this past summer, at a ratio of about two to one, I peed outside more than I peed inside. Yeah. At a ratio about two to one. Oh my God. Yeah.

I mean, yeah. If I'm in the country, like there are times, if I was, like there was, we were playing a game at the kitchen table, the three of us. And I had to go pee and I just walked outside and just peed on the grass. But how far is in the washroom right there? It's about the same. It's about the same. It shows. Yes, I did. To go pee outside. Yes. On the grass. Yes. Isn't it ruined your precious grass? No. No. I've five spots. I picked my spots. Right. Because the bathrooms are in a different wing. I'm not. I'm not going to stay here. Anybody else have something that sounds 100%. Oh, yeah. Is it true? Yeah, I've never been drunk. Never been drunk. That's the giant cow. I'm not drunk. Can you drink? It's calm. I've never been drunk. Yeah. You haven't been drunk. Not even tipsy. I was. No. I don't know. Never. That's why you get you drunk when that's a kid. That's why you get you twisted. That's a coy. I have a couple. I just want to which one. Tell them all. Okay. So one of them is that I was going to do biomedical sciences in university instead of journalism. Because I got like super good grades in high school, which you wouldn't expect from me because

the school tings segments I've been so bad at. But I got like nearly 100% in every subject in high school. Okay. It was going to do bio med and then I chose journalism. Okay. So one is I wanted a pet so bad when I was little that I would go into the grass and the mud and get earthworms, put them in a top work container and bring them inside and take care of them as a pet. I would take dead fish that had maggots in them. I would put them in containers, treat them as pets until I got a pet. Would you end up getting? I am, sir. Oh, you were so hard up for a pet that you would go and dig up worms and bring them in and raise worms. Yes. Wow. That is so hillbilly. I brought more hillbilly than taking a pee on the grass in the country. Right. Fair. Fair. Fair. Fair. Fair. Fair. I retract that. Do you want to do more? That I'm completely broke. That's. No, that's very believable. That's extremely believable. Very believable. Very believable. Can my Jason Priestley one work for this? Which is? That I found out the other day that every time I've interviewed Jason Priestley, it's been

on the exact same day. How many times though? Four. Four. It's like, it's always on a Monday. It's always on August 26th. Different years. Four years in a four years. That's pretty crazy. Not even four years in a row. Exactly. Four years in a season. Jason Priestley. And they happen to be August 26th. That's so good. All four interviews. So good. Yeah. Wow. Yeah. I don't know if I have an answer for this, guys. Like, people don't believe I'm athletic. I mean, well, millennial. Right. That's all. Hey, you know what? You guys are right. Let's move on. Okay. Mayo asks, did Raj have a pager growing up and how do they? Raj. Sorry. Sorry. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry. Did I need to go? Did I? Did I have a pager? No. I did. I didn't have a pager. But we had better. It was easier. When you know how I used to have to call a friend Chloe. But I don't like it. No, if I first saw payphones, right? But if I didn't have a quote, I would have to call a friend. I would have to call a friend Chloe. But I don't like it. No, if I first saw payphones, right?

But if I didn't have a quarter or didn't want to spend a quarter, because sometimes I would have exactly like $4.75 in my pocket. And that was enough to get a beer at like this pub around the corner from you, right? And so if I was meeting a friend and I couldn't get a hold of them because nobody had cell phones, what you could do is if you went to a payphone, you could make a collect call. Do you know what a collect call is? No idea. Okay. So collect call is you would call zero and it would be the operator. And it would say, do you want to make a collect call? And then you would say, yes, and you would put the thing in. And then it would say, after the beep, say your name. And then their number would call and it would say, you have a collect call from Chloe. And then you would say, do you accept the charges? And then you could press one. But what you could also do in that moment is when it said, after the beep, say your name, I'd be like, mokats rosam at the bar. Right. And then he would answer the phone and it would go, you have a collect call from mokats rosam at the bar. You accept the charges and he would go no and then you would just come to the bar. Right.

Like that's how you communicated for free with people. Like prison phones. Right. Never mind. Never mind. You can't teach him anything. You can't teach the young kids anything. No one more DM, please, Chloe. So as asks, would you rather have everything you consume food and beverages to be piping hot and like it never cools down or icy cold and never warms up? Oh, well, both are ruined then. Right. Everything you eat has either like so hot. I know, but if it's a piping hot and it never cools down because I would say piping hot, but then just wait for it to get to a temperature. I'll come to you. Let's just say hot or cold. Yeah. Like not burn your mouth hot, right? But like hot, but beverages too, right? Milk, shem. Yeah. Yeah. Apple juice. Yeah. Apple juice. War, metal juice with his like, water. Water's hot. I know. I know. I know. I know. A cereal. I guess I'm choosing cold then. Yeah.
