About Meg & The Daily Pep!

I’m Meg and I’m the host of The Daily Pep! and The Couragemakers Podcast and founder of The Rebel Rousers. I’m a coach, writer and all-round rebel-rouser for creative and multi-passionate women to do the things only they can do and build a wholehearted life. When I'm not recording episodes, writing bullshit-free Letters of Rebellion to my wonderful Couragemakers community or hosting workshops/group programmes, I'm usually covered in paint or walking my wonderfully weird cockapoo Merlin.

Now on to the day show. Good morning DailyPepers and a very happy Friday for you. So to wrap up this week's DailyPep,

I thought I would share a quote with you that really resonated with me and is something that I think a lot of us just need to hear and think about as the world feels the way it does right now. So I've recently got into the novels of Catherine Ryan Hyde and there's one passage in her fabulous novel, have you seen Louis Villes that really struck a chord? And it's this, the world is terrible and wonderful at the same time. One doesn't negate the other, but the wonderful keeps us in the game. It keeps us moving forward and if you're anything like me and the fabulous women I get to work with, shit has felt heavy lately which is the biggest understatement ever. But the reason I love that quote is because it doesn't bullshit us. If you've been around here a while, you'll know all too well that I think Good Vibes only is toxic as fuck and yet we do need to find a way to keep going

and holding those two things in our hands at once and having it as a yes and rather than an awe or invalidate in one of them can feel incredibly complicated but it is one of the most helpful things we can do and I think we are definitely whether we like it or not, getting used to living in the nuance. I am a firm believer that joy isn't active rebellion and that one of the things that we have to do as humans going through this is fight as hard as we can to retain some sense of wonder, some sense of awe and to remember that there are good bits. Like the quote says, one does not negate the other but it is the wonder that keeps us in the game and in moving forward and I think many of us need a bit of a wonder treasure hunt right now. The messy thing about being human is that we have to find a way to hold grief and pure rage in the same hand as joy and wonder

is part of what actually helps us stay human. So that is your very human homework for this weekend. I want you to go and find some wonder that could look like spending time with people who like you up intentionally doing something that really makes you smile for no other reason than it makes you smile or go spend some time with some baby things if you can whether that's baby flowers, baby humans, baby animals and remember that life can be pretty fucking incredible. It can just be hard to remember it sometimes. Have a hopeful weekend, look for the wonder and I'll be back with you on Monday in your ears as usual for another episode of the Daily Pepp or in your inbox if you're part of my fabulous email community where I'm sharing all of the behind-the-scenes stuff about my upcoming trip to Bulgaria and if you want to join me on that journey you can join the email community by going to the link in the show notes or by going to the rebelrises.com for sash letters.

Either way I'll see you then and remember as always that everything changes when you believe you matter.
