About Meg & The Daily Pep!

I’m Meg and I’m the host of The Daily Pep! and The Couragemakers Podcast and founder of The Rebel Rousers. I’m a coach, writer and all-round rebel-rouser for creative and multi-passionate women to do the things only they can do and build a wholehearted life. When I'm not recording episodes, writing bullshit-free Letters of Rebellion to my wonderful Couragemakers community or hosting workshops/group programmes, I'm usually covered in paint or walking my wonderfully weird cockapoo Merlin.

Now on to the day show. Good morning DailyPepers and a very happy Thursday to you. So for today's DailyPep, we are

celebrating the power of the course. In a world where everything has to be instantaneous and everything is so reactive, where we feel like we have to have got everything done yesterday and we have to have the right answer at the right time. I just want to remind you that in most cases you are able to and it probably is best to take a pause. It can be so easy to forget to check in with ourselves, only to agree to things we really wish we didn't say yes to and then have to spend even more time trying to get out of it or dreading having to go to the thing itself. The same is hard conversations. I have a rule where I don't answer the phone, I don't answer a message if I'm angry and I will sit on it for a bit and all too often we feel like we have to work to everybody else's timescale and forget that we can just give ourselves a second. Things like I'll let you know, I'll get back

to you and let me have a think are all absolutely valid responses but if we're people please is they tend not to be the first thing that comes to mind and it does take a bit of practice and it can be a little bit uncomfortable to begin with. Also remember that I'm at capacity is also a perfectly valid response and everybody has equal access to your precious time and energy. So here's to reinstate in the pause. Here's to check in with yourself first before you agree to something and here's to knowing that your response and how you feel is perfectly valid. You don't have to become a pretzel for other people and sometimes a slightly uncomfortable no saves you a fuck load of time and stress further down the line. Have a fabulous rest of your day and I'll see you tomorrow.
