About Meg & The Daily Pep!
I’m Meg and I’m the host of The Daily Pep! and The Couragemakers Podcast and founder of The Rebel Rousers. I’m a coach, writer and all-round rebel-rouser for creative and multi-passionate women to do the things only they can do and build a wholehearted life. When I'm not recording episodes, writing bullshit-free Letters of Rebellion to my wonderful Couragemakers community or hosting workshops/group programmes, I'm usually covered in paint or walking my wonderfully weird cockapoo Merlin.

1:04to share something that I've been going through in my own life because I think it is something we all struggle with and I keep getting reminded of the same thing over and over again and I figured that you might need to hear it too. So lately I have been having a right confidence wobble. The perfectionism has been out to play, the people pleasing has been there, the self-doubt has been off the charts and my inner dream-chitter has fucking loved every single second of it. And one of the interesting things about this particular confidence wobbles because there have been many is that I've really noticed that I've been looking outside of myself for answers. I have been assuming that somebody will know exactly what I need to do, whether that is about life staff or business staff and it has been so so hard not just to get sucked into other people's confidence and other people's assertiveness especially when they are claiming that they know
2:08all the answers. Now most other days of the year I would spot that a mile off because I am so not a fan of that. I hate this guru shit. I know that nobody has their shit figured out, no matter how much effort they put in to try and to make it look otherwise. But I have just been so suckered in because sometimes it is the easy route and sometimes it is easier to try and borrow somebody else's confidence than it is to try and find your own. But the thing that I keep circling and spiraling back to is that if I sit with myself I know I've got the answers. If I get a bit quiet I also know that I have my own back and I know that nobody knows me better which can sometimes feel a bit like a double edged sword because I also know very well what my most successful avoidance strategies are too. So if like me you've been having a bit of a confidence
3:13wobble lately I want to pop in and say you are absolutely not alone and get even more selective than usual about whose voices you let in because chances are your inner dream shitter is really really loud and I think we also have some of our defenses down and bullshit that we wouldn't really give two shits about normally starts to feel slightly alluring and I'm saying this to both of us we know what we're doing we know deep down that we can do it and if we're not sure what we're doing we can rely on ourselves and trust ourselves to figure it out even if it is really fucking frustrating that we always have to see if you can find a way to get quiet and listen to that quiet voice for me that looks like journaling and it looks like writing letters from my future self to my present self or to my past self and know that this is temporary and it will pass and if you are not
4:18currently going through a confidence wobble I see you I cheer you on and you fucking got it so that's what I've been thinking about lately I hope you're having an unexpectedly nice week and I hope a stranger gives you a compliment happy hump day and I'll see you tomorrow
