Hello and welcome to AGPHD Daily, I'm Brian Hefty along with Zach Hefty. We are live in the Terriplex Studios and today we're going to talk a little about what's new for 2027. I realize we're still in 2026. You probably have some harvest to go on your farm just like we do on ours but we're already thinking ahead. And hopefully you are a little bit to I'm excited about 2027. I think there are a lot of great things coming. So we're going to talk about that just a little bit today. So I'll just give you a little update on our own farm here. We finished silage harvest. This is probably I don't know 10 days ago, something like that. Basically it was terrible.
Now we had some really good yields. I look at everything in terms of bushels. And by the way, how we convert is we just take our silage, our corn silage tons and multiply times nine and that gets us to bushels. So I mean we were as high as 250 bushels on our farm per acre but we also had some stuff that was down near 100. Just horrific like the worst stuff that we've seen since 2012. And just thinking in my entire lifetime, we've had 2012, 1988 and 1976. And basically those were the super crazy ridiculously dry years. In 1976, after that year my dad would often talk about the year and just how horrible it was and he would say, Brian, you know, that year we had less rain than the Mojave Desert. Now I've never actually checked his mouth so I don't know if that's a fact, but I do know that year was super crazy dry. And I also know that 1977, he talked a lot about because he goes, well, 77 actually made
up for it. So had ample rain, had all this carry over fertilizer, but a big thing he did say is almost everybody planted corn on corn, beans on beans, weed on wheat. I was just talking to a farmer about this yesterday who had to zero out his crop in North Dakota. And I said, I don't know if it's me sitting there with all that nitrogen left, I'm probably going right back to corn. I mean, I would take advantage of the fertility that's there. If you go plant soybeans, I mean sure the beans will use up that nitrogen, but now you're more likely to have iron deficiency chlorosis. And it doesn't really do your crop a lot of good because the bean plant can create a lot of nitrogen on its own. So why don't we put corn out there or wheat or something that actually needs that nitrogen? So anyway, just something to think about if you had drought on your farm, like I've had drought on my farm, we'll be planning just a little bit differently next year than we normally do. All right, let's get into the YagPHD mailbag.
Get the mailbag! Now on today's show, we're talking about what's new in 2027. Well, there's new things that everyone's trying on the farm every single year. And this question we got in is from Matthew in Southwest Iowa. First time writing in, he was listening to a show about reducing compaction. And at the end of the interview with the Maxime Tyra rep, you said it was beneficial to leave taller corn stocks when doing strip till. I was curious if you could elaborate that a little bit as someone who's going to be picking up a soil and doing strip till for the first time on his farm. Okay, a couple of things. One of the things a lot of people complain about when they use chopping corn heads is that the residue is blowing all over the place. Well, if you leave the stock a little bit taller, that definitely helps. And obviously, if you go in there with strip till, well, now you're throwing at least a little tiny bit of dirt on almost all the residue that's left out there. So between those two things, we're in pretty good shape. The other big question always is going to be how much damage are we going to do to tires,
and that was what I just remember for that Maxime Tyra person that was getting talked about, the damage that could happen on tires. So one of the guys on our, actually our head research person here at AGPHD talks a lot about stock stompers, just anything to push those stocks over a little bit. Well, the taller they are, the easier they are to push over. If you've got them pretty short, that's hard to do. And they're, well, I'll put it this way. We're trying to raise the healthiest possible corn stocks that we can. The issue with that is they're not breaking down very well by the time we're going through and doing almost anything out there. So I, I mean, in the fall I'm talking about. So I would just say I like the stocks just a little bit tall. I'm not talking super tall. But if they were 18 inches instead of nine inches or whatever, I mean, any little bit in my book helps to hold the residue in there and create just maybe a few less issues on the tires. We got Harold calling in a farmer in Nebraska. He's got some questions on weed control. Harold, what do you got for us? Well, I've got a couple different weeds here. You, you talk about water, hemp. I call it just hemp, I guess. Some of it's 10 feet tall and 240 hits it good and then but it seems like it comes back. Now by comes back, do you mean the same plant continues to live or a new plant starts? No, I think it's the same plant. It just knocks back and then two weeks later you look at it and it's going at it again. Sure. Yep. So usually how much do you use? How much do you use? Oh, I don't know what to the acre. I'm using two pints, maybe to the acre. Yep. And that's the issue right there. So the bigger the weed and the tougher it is to kill, the higher the rate you're going to have to go. So I don't know exactly what your situation is, but when you look on the label, it's most likely going to allow you to go at a much higher rate.
So a quart of LV6 is, I mean, that's that's bare minimum in my book for small weeds, like four to six inch tall weeds out in the past year. Maybe a thistle here or there. So I would say bump the rate. That's going to help you a lot. Now when we start talking about 10 foot tall stuff or eight or six or four. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So I mean, you just have to hit it and you got to hit it again. So but number one is rate. Now number two, my question is how much water are we using per acre? Oh, probably a 10 gallon maybe. 10? Okay. Yeah, I just wanted to make sure we weren't going super crazy on water or anything like that. 10 gallons is fine. You hit it hard with 240 just up that rate and you're going to see a lot of difference. The other thing we want the weeds actively growing. So as much as we can when we've got warm weather, humid weather, that's when we get a little bit better control. Hey, Harold, we got to take a quick break here.

On today's show, we're talking about what's new for 2027, which there's a lot of new things that are always coming out. It's always something that we like to do on our farm is trying new things out on a small scale, seeing how they're going. First before we really expand into full farm. Yep. The small scale is the key thing here. I just encourage you, try new stuff. We want you to try new things. If you don't try something new, then how are you going to make any improvements on the farm? Just try it on a small scale. We're going to talk about some different things today that you can certainly try in a small scale as we head into 2027. I'm really excited about it, but there's so much in terms of the technology side, everything
from maybe software that you're going to use, equipment you're going to use, fertilizer, seed, and then crop protection products. So first up on the show, we got Tom Wood going in. He's with Belgium. Tom, how are you doing today? Hi Zach, how are you? Hi Brian. Hi. We're doing well Tom and we want to know what's new for 2027 with Belgium. What are you looking forward to? Anything different that's coming out? Well, something a little different and part of what we do at Belgium is to preserve chemistries and products that have proven effective for growers and preserve them into the future. Another product that we'll be adding to our portfolio in this fall is called Belgard EQ. You may know this formulation. It's a pre-mix of two complementary AIs, FluTriFall, and IZoxy. So you may be familiar with the formulation, but not so much with the name.
We've named it Belgard EQ. So Tom, is that something that will be available for growers right away next spring to get? Next summer, is that able to, is that a EPA like registered and approved right now for growers? Yeah, the federal registration is done. The state registration should be done in a few weeks. So it should be available to distribution and has growers this fall. So this one's pretty quick. Hey, so Tom, for growers that aren't familiar with those two things or just like this product in general, where are the best fits for that? Where do you see it working into different operations? Is it stuff that has been around a little bit before? So you've had some experience with it. Yeah, so you know if we try a fall on you, you know, isoxy, we're unlikely.
So if we try a fall, penetrates the leaves, moves quickly upwards in the plant and prevents diseases. And I'll get to that. And the isoxy inhibits the fungal respiration, essentially causing the plant to die or the fungal cells to die, not the plant, sorry. Key crops, corn, soybeans and wheat, but it has a pretty broad label. So there's specialty crops and minor crops available there too. And this formulation has proven effective on diseases such as southern rust, tar spot, variety of others like gray spot, tan spot, septuria leaf blocks. So it covers some diseases that everyone's concerned about. And its track record is pretty good on this. We do get a question on sourcing because when you come with a product that has been, or
a formulation that's been seen in the market before, it's a question of quality and supply. But on this formulation, it comes from a well-respected manufacturer and a formulator who's well versed in this formulation. Hey Tom, is there anything else that you're interested in or excited in, I mean, 42027? This is a new product for you guys at Belgium. But what about anything else? I do, maybe I can give you a teaser. We have this product that's coming, Belgart EQ. We have another one that I was hoping I could announce today. It's an insecticide with the biological. Oh cool. That's been pretty interesting. I would say, let's hold that one for another time until we get things completed on that. But we do where we might have another one besides Belgart EQ for 2027. There's more to come on that one, hopefully within 30 days we'll have that one nailed down.
Well, the good news, Tom, is we have a ways to go until we get to 2027. So it's not like we need it today, but yeah, it's good to hear there's new things coming. He's with UPL. Hey, Ryan, how are you today? Good afternoon, guys. I'm doing well. All right, so lots of things at UPL all the time. You have a wide variety of products. What's new and different going into 2027? Yeah, and that's exactly right. We've got a lot of irons in the fire. So I've got a few I can talk about as much time we have, but we got about three and a half minutes, Ryan. All right, well, I'll try to go quick. So we've got to start with the herbicides and 2026 was our first year with introducing
the Intrava platform to the market. We started with Intrava DX, great product for the corn pre-emergent acre, very strong on water camp. Built around that Intrava platform and that any product that has Intrava contains the Amacarbazone, which is a new active ingredient to the corn acre and is unique to UPL. So we're really excited to continue to build on that for 2027. We're also anticipating registration of another Intrava based product that's called Intrava MX. So that's another pre-mixed offering also for the corn acre, also for the pre-emergent market, just different components there. The highlight with that one is a little bit broader geographic range just because of some lesser soil restrictions versus a product like Intrava DX. And then I'd also like to highlight it a little bit further out so it's not going to make it for 2027, but we also submitted a registration package for an additional Intrava product to the EPA this summer. So it's been really busy on the Intrava front for UPL.
Nice. We're pretty excited to continue the momentum into 2027. Yep. Great. Secondly, another herbicide I'd like to highlight that we did receive EPA registration for and we're excited to bring that to the market in 2027 is a product called Winger SC. And this is not new. So Winger SC is UPL's liquid pyroxous-falthone. So it'll be very similar to what growers are used to with the Zidua or many of the other SMC type products with pyroxous-falthone. So a lot of the attributes of pyroxous-falthone will carry over into Winger SC. But highlight here is just UPL being a global manufacturer. We're excited to provide US growers now with more access and choice when it comes to this really, really efficacious group 15 active ingredients. So we've already UPL globally already supplies the market in several key agricultural countries. And like I said, we've got the EPA registration.
We're excited to supply for 2027 as well. Anything else in the list? Yeah. We're going to shut up with NAMACSA, which is I'm going to switch gears a little bit and talk about a bio-naminicide. We had a soft lunch this year and good, great results with that one. The intent with this bio-naminicide is to help control nematodes for corn and soybeans, but especially for the soybean acres, soybean, cis nematode. Triple stack of besilvers. It's offered as a seed treatment this year. And then what's new for 2027 is the label will also contain directions for use for the inferro application. So it'll offer a little bit more flexibility for the end user if they want to apply NAMACSA as a seed treatment or go in furrow to help control those nematodes of soil. All right. So they do develop a number of new things and have a number of generic options that are out there as well or things that had already been in the marketplace. But lots of innovation there. So it's been kind of interesting working with them over the years. All right. When it comes to making successful crops, there's a lot of ground to cover. It's time for the egg PhD spotlight. All right. In today's egg PhD spotlight, we're going to talk about a not super fun topic to talk about
which is carryover. So we got this question in from Spencer, it up in North Dakota and is wondering about putting on a cover crop to help reduce carryover or prevent carryover because of the drought going into soybeans for next year. So flying on rye into standing corn because this year there's three ounces of loudest plus a quarter pound of atrazine in most fields and then four ounces of loudest in some other fields. I wouldn't think it would do too much to lessen the carryover adding in a cover crop but what are your thoughts on this situation? Okay. So first of all, if you are not from North Dakota or South Dakota, let me just tell you how it has been here this year, unbelievably dry in many areas. I have talked to a few farmers up in North Dakota where they zeroed out their corn already, mode it down. It's rough. So I was mentioning this earlier on the show, this is where I've suggested that people
go corn on corn, beans on beans, wheat on wheat. I mean, just plant the same crop again because not only do we want to take advantage of the fertilizer you put out for corn, for example, but we ought to be really cautious about this whole carryover thing. There are certainly herbicides that did not fully break down. So let's talk just a little bit about the breakdown of any herbicide. So a lot of times people just say rain, okay? But the thing is most herbicide, so sure, atrazine could potentially leach away. Loudest isn't leaching away. How do we get rid of loudest? How do we get rid of a lot of the soil active herbicides that are out there? Well, number one, we want to raise lots of crop or lots of weeds, okay? Anything that any plant that is going to bring that into the plant, if it's a crop that can metabolize it, it metabolizes it. If it's a weed that can't, then the weed brings it in, the weed dies, but the point is the herbicide gets used up either way.
Or the other side of it is if we have really good microbial life. So that means a very healthy soil, lots of air in the soil, lots of plant growth and the plant growth, the roots kick out sugars to feed all those microbes, they start breaking a lot of those things down. So when it is really dry, there isn't as much plant growth. There isn't the activity out of the microbes that you'd normally have. So we've got a double whammy there and we usually end up with much more likely carryover situations. Well, just now, in my area and in many spots in North Dakota, they've gotten rain here in the last 10 days. Doesn't do us a lot of good for this crop, but if you're trying to throw a cover crop out there, could that help a little bit reduce the, I mean, now that the cover crop could get started because of the rain, could we reduce a little bit of the carryover risk? Sure, a little bit, but let's face it. In North Dakota, there's not a lot of growing season left. So we can suck up a little bit of that loudest in Atrazine, but probably not much.
The only good news I'll say here is loudest doesn't carry over near as much as Colisto, it's not as likely. And Atrazine at only a quarter of a pound is not that bad. I'm still going to take a look at, hey, if I raise corn and I have a short crop, I'm probably sitting on a bunch of nitrogen. I'm probably going back to corn next year if it's me. But yes, if you wanted to, you could probably get by with soybeans. I'm going to feel a lot more comfortable in the future when I have iconic beans that are much more tolerant to HPPD, but today this is kind of where we're at. Perry with BASF, he's the US head of seeds and trials. Brian, we just saw you down at farm progress. There's some new things coming in 2027. Let's talk about some of them. Yeah, that good to hear from you and hope Brian, you're doing well also. I am. So Brian, oh, go ahead. No, no, I'll let you drive. I mean, we can talk about seed. Obviously, I care about that. I obviously can talk on crop protection, but where are your viewers want to start off? Yeah, let's start with the trade. Okay, I'm really excited about Nemis fear coming, but are we going to really see any of it in 2027 or is that something we still got to wait on? Yeah, great question. I mean, you got the chance to actually see the seed and ground right at farm progress. We had a Nemis fear varieties right in that plot. We expect to get registration on it. Zach and Brian here and the next, I'd say 45 to 60 days.
So that means for next year, we won't be ready to fully commercially scale because we would have had to produce seed obviously last year, but we will be in a place where we can really drive unregulated trials. So that means much broader testing. I know we had the chance to actually do some testing with you all actually up at your field day, but scale that up. And then this time next year, your listeners will be able to actually purchase Nemis fear varieties. And for us, it'd be through a Zitabel brand, but also we're working with other industry partners to bring the trade forward in multiple options. So Brian, before we move on to talking other things that are new for 2027, explain Nemis fear from your point of view and really what it's going to bring to grow or to soybean growers going forward. Yeah, no, I mean, I've been in the ag industry for 29 years now and a lot of different roles and have the chance to launch a lot of crop protection solutions and to be in a place where you can bring what I would call the most comprehensive trade ever launched in soybeans.
And I know that may seem kind of bold, but when you think about bringing forward the first ever BT trade to control soybean system nematode, which is the number one yield robbing pest and soybeans to date, we rely on native traits. They've been good, but the last one was launched 60 years ago. So there's been no new innovation and there's been nothing from a biotech or BT. So I think most of your listeners would recognize what BT did to transform corn production. Just listen to you all talking about HPVDs and flexibility with that platform. So NEMA sphere will also bring in HPVD dollar. It's specific on me. So Trion will be where we have a label recommended, but whenever you mentioned Brian, you know, you talked about that flexibility on on replanting. You'll have that as an option also with NEMA sphere. And we think combining the fourth mode of action, the herbicide flexibility, the nematode control is really going to allow farmers to unlock their full potential maker. Yeah, having all of those things is much better than just having one option there because
well, everyone's asking for more and more with the traits. And there's just more challenges out there too that you have more flexibility and more more options really. So Brian, what else are you excited for for 2027? Yeah, I mean, for us too, I should add Nissel hit some of your listeners, especially at further west, we're, you know, really close to commercially introducing and bigger gold. That's going to be a version of canola that can handle hotter, drier, a little more, you know, adapted to those tougher tighter soils, maybe they're more coarse soils. So it's going to be a real, say targeted launch where we'll probably add 20 to 30,000 acres in market. And that'll actually happen this year. So it's really exciting to bring another crop option for your listeners that are maybe in more of a wheat, wolf's rotation. And that also will bring in herbicide tolerance with Liberty Link to help on weed control. And then, you know, you get into other herbicide options, you know, BISF, known for innovating on chemistry, the seed, something a little bit newer of late.
Now, we're working to introduce and plan to introduce for Axor. That's a new PPO that also controls current biotypes of of Amaranthus species that are resistant to PPO. So while it's still in the class of PPO, it seems to be attacking a different side of action. And then we'll have, I call it enhanced mixtures, right? So we'll be introducing Zidua Plus. That'll be a combination of Zidua as well as MSF appears so the component in pursuit. That'll provide free post flexibility where our current Zidua Pro formulation, you have to get on before the crop gets up and then RITIVX, which I'm also excited about. That'll bring status plus Zidua to brands to date myself that are, remember, when we launched those and now we're looking at how do we bring them in a easier to handle formulation that really can give growers more flexibility in their corn crop. Hey, when you talk about that, RITIVX, what's the ratio in there? Because that's always our concern is, is it any time you've got a pre-mex, the farmer is always interested, just like I am on my farm, what's my ratio?
Because I want just the right amount of Zidua and the right amount of status. So what is that ratio there? Yeah, Brian, this is where the seed guy is going to fail yet. Because I've been far enough removed from my chemistry role, I wouldn't be able to give you the right answer on the ratio, but I will promise to follow up with the team. But you're bang on. That is the tough thing on the ratio. I do know they were really looking hard at trying to try to dial in on what more the average use rates are, but you're right. I mean, it's hard to get it perfect, but I will follow up on that one with you and that way you can help that with your list. Well, I would say this, Brian, when I talk to farmers about water hemp, especially water hemp, Palmer, Kosha, those are the major weeds for the vast majority of people that we talk to. And I just say, all right, status is my favorite post. I really like the Zidua pre, along with sharpened. So generally, I'm talking to people about sertene. So those are all BFF products and all things that are very effective
at killing the toughest weeds out there. And I'm glad just kind of to go back to your new PPO you're talking about. If that does control the PPO resistant issues that we're having, like up in North Dakota, we've got a lot of PPO resistant Kosha now. Well, we're excited about that because Kosha's pretty bad in North Dakota if you haven't been there lately. Oh, man. Yeah, that definitely is. And I'm glad you brought up the PPO and the ratios. And like you said, just how do you get it right for your listeners? I know that I know the intent here is 2027, but if I also shared something that gets me excited is whenever you look longer terms. So we talked about nemesphere, but we also have traits in our pipeline, like a PPO trait that's around the corner. And we mentioned barracks or, but we also have other new PPO's in our pipeline that are doing the same. So looking at how they attack the weed in a different way. So what you're going to see from 27 and beyond is you'll see BSF bringing forward new crop protection solutions, but you'll start seeing more of an integrated approach

Hey, there's just one thing before we get back into the mailbag that I wanted to mention. Because yes, we could talk about a lot of different new products out there. But the thing that I'm most excited about is actually the fact that a lot of herbicide prices are down and I mean way down. So if you haven't checked lately, there are a lot of things here just in the last month that have come down very substantially. I'm super excited about it.
I've been talking with growers about this here over the last month and this basically means that for all of us as farmers, we're going to be able to use higher rates, more tank mix partners, maybe even an additional application and not necessarily have to spend any more money than we did last year. Well, if we can use higher rates and more products, what does that mean? That means better weed control. And I am excited about it because as I've been driving around the country here over the last couple of months, there are a lot of weeds, a lot of uncontrolled weeds. And I will just say if you've been frustrated by this because I've talked to many farmers who have like, oh man, I don't know what to do and I can't kill these weeds, oh we can kill about anything. You just have to put a good plant together and then follow that plant. It does start with pre-emergerbicides and preferably I like them pre-plant in most cases. That's how we get the best weed control. So anyway, if you have specific questions about weeds, let us know. But yeah, that's the biggest thing to me that I mean, sure, it's not a new product, but
it's a new thing where the prices are coming down that much in one year. So I think it's going to be awesome. You know, one question I do have for you because I'm newer agronomist, newer farmer. And what's new for 2027? We've talked about some products that are just similar products being formulated kind of together where you could get one and the other right now and their pre-mixes. Obviously, you might have less like total gallons you might have to put in, but like why even waste time trying to formulate them together when they already work great separately. Well, okay. So the reason why companies want to do pre-mixes is because then they get to sell both products or in some cases three products rather than one. So for them, it's an advantage. So when they can put it together, sometimes they can actually cut some of the inert ingredients or water. So if let's say I have a two and a half gallon jug of one thing and a two and a half gallon of another, well, that's five gallons. But if I put them together as a pre-mix, maybe they can work it into three and a half or
four gallons. Well, that's that much less packaging, trucking, everything else. And you might say, well, it's not that big a deal. Well, you start talking millions of gallons or even hundreds of thousands of gallons. That is a really big deal profitability wise for a lot of those companies. And then they're just looking at, all right, how many more modes of action can we get out there because farmers want more modes of action? My biggest caution to any farmer and agronomist though is make sure you're finding effective modes of action. Yeah, I get it that some products say, oh, we have three modes of action. Well, if they don't have three modes of action on the wheat I'm after, let's say it's water hemp. If not all three of those are fantastic, then why spend the extra money getting that? Why don't you just get three separate things that are all great on their own? So anyway, yeah, there will be more of those kind of options in the future. And the big thing too, I would say is when anybody talks to you about, oh, we've got this new product. Let's look into it a little more. Is it actually new or is it just something that's old that's now a pre-mix or formulated
in a different way? And not that there's anything wrong with that, but it's just if I know what it is and what it has been, now I know better how to use it and how to fit it in on my farm. Yeah, no, that makes sense. So now getting back into the egg, PhD, male, bag, we got some soil tests in from Ross up in North Dakota. So sentence and soil tests on some peak ground here and was wondering what you can do in the fall to get on the path of correcting it. So would adding potassium build because the potassium is really low, be a good star also has high salts and sulfur that should be flushed out. So would the fixing the base saturation K help lower that base saturation calcium? It is peak ground. So what are your thoughts on this? Okay. So everybody's definition of peak ground is a little bit different. This is 40 cat eye and exchange capacity. So is it high? Sure, it's high, but it's not like it's ridiculous. So I guess I'm just not super worried about that. But yes, it is a little on the high side.
The pH isn't bad. It's 6.9. So I don't mind that. But here's the problem. We're 0.4% K. We are 19.4% magnesium. Okay. So when we start talking about the magnesium to potassium ratio, I go, ooh, I got 955 parts per million of magnesium and only 59 parts per million of potassium. That ratio, we want that around two to one at the most. Currently, it's close to 20 to one. So what's happening out in your field is magnesium is just pumping into your plant day after day after day after day. And it's choking the potassium out. The potassium is not allowed to get into the plant because you don't have the right balance. So there are ways around this because you're not going to like the price tag that I will tell you if we start talking broadcast. Now, it's different. Let's say you're rich. Let's say money doesn't matter today. And long term is all you care about. You own the ground. You're going to farm it for the next 50 years. I mean, sure, I'm 58 years old, totally planning to farm for 40 more years.
Okay. So if you're in a farm for 40 more years on your ground and you have the money to do it, would I put on a whole bunch of potassium? Sure I would. But what I would probably do, I'd limit myself to 500 or 600 pounds per year upon ash until we get that base saturation K up to 4%. It'll probably take you five or six years of doing that, maybe seven. And so that's one way to go. Otherwise, I really like stripped-till in these situations because now I put the pot ash right below where I'm going to plant. And now the plant has no choice, but it will run into that potassium. So in a way, you kind of trick your plant because we're going to get so much potassium in compared to all that magnesium that's in the soil. So if I was renting the ground, there's absolutely no question I would be out there stripped-tilling with potassium. That's your best way to get it into the plant. I also will say phosphorus is an issue. Now in a peat soil, when you have 40 cat-ein exchange capacity, it's hard for anything to move around. But phosphorus doesn't move around anyway. So phosphorus is always set, but 13 parts per million just flat out is not enough for a big
time crop. So that's two where if it's me, and I own the ground, I'm going to farm it for 40 years and I can afford it. Sure, I'd go broadcast a whole bunch of phosphorus. But otherwise, just stripped-till it, banned it, and you'll be in pretty good shape. But yeah, as far as like soluble salts, when I look at, oh, we're high in soluble salts, and then I say, all right, how about any other leachables? Well, yep, sulfur is real high, nitrate is real high. What does that tell you? That tells you we've got a drainage problem. Here's the issue. In a 40 cat-ein exchange capacity soil, it's going to take tile, roughly every probably 15 to 20 feet. So here again, you own the ground, you can afford it. It'll be a great investment for the next 40 years. But in the short term, it's going to cost a lot of money to get that in the ground, and that super heavy soil. All right, stick around. Next up on the show we got Greg Gillard with Maxim Tire. Greg, we were just talking together at Farm Progress and I want you to talk about one thing that I saw a new tire that you're releasing. What's the deal with that and what are you excited for? Good afternoon. Happy to join you. Happy to be on the show again. Glad to have met you last week at Farm Progress. Other than the hot temperature, it was a great show. Great chance to meet up with some more customers, new farmers and share the next evolution of technology that we're bringing to market. And exactly as we discussed that our booth were launching the Maxim 963R Racial Rho Extra, which is our response of the next evolution of VFs high-load high-speed implement tires to start to get these implement that have been operating at 100 psi down to reasonable air pressures and let's continue the mission of reducing compaction and increasing farmers
yields. So explain first, Greg. And I had talked to you about this in the booth because I didn't know what it was right away. Is the VF with the tire? What does that mean? Does that add to these new sets of tires? Well, VF is a technology shift in tires. So if we think of a standard radial tire on a standard radial tire, 80% of the weight is not carried by the rubber or the casing material. It's carried by the compressed air and 20% is carried by the materials, the rubber, the wiring, etc. With VF technology, we're transferring that part of that load capacity back to the casing, back to the rubber, and we're able to then better control the air pressure because the casing has more and durable strength. So as a result, we can lower the air pressures or increase the load depending which direction you want to go. So the advantage of the F technology, for example, is you can either increase the load by 40% and keep the same air pressure or you can lower the air pressure for that load down 40%
or a lot of compromising the casing, really extend that tire footprint and maximize your flotation, your traction, and reduce oil compaction, which in the end is what allows us to hopefully increase yield and get the farmers the returns that they're looking for on their crops. Yeah, one other thing we're talking about too, Greg, well, we're there because this is super interesting and it makes sense on how it holds the pressure if you can either increase it and hold more weight or decrease it and hold the same weight. It was really cool to see the side by side too because you had an older style tire there versus this new style tire, which is this now available, like anyone could get these now, it did just release. Absolutely. Yeah, absolutely. What you said is true. You know, part of what we did in front of our risk is to show the existing technology, which most of these machines are on bias technology. And bias tires have been around for 140 years, you know, since the turn of the previous
century, you know, because they're all built on cotton flies, et cetera. The problem with the bias tire, because of the natural strength of the rubber, what it can and can't carry, we tend to operate these at a very higher pressure. The advantage that maximum bringing to the table is not only creating a radial solution, it immediately stepping into the VF technology where we shift that load carrying capacity back to the rubber, back to the casing material. And it allows us to commit to the farmers that, hey, we can get that air pressure that perhaps on that implement was running at 100 psi today on that bias tire, that old technology tire on this new VF. We can get it down to 40 or 50 or 60 depending on your axle loads. And now not only do you have the advantage of VF technology on your tractor, your harvest or your sprayer, but now you also have it on that toad implement with the whole objective of ensuring that we're not pulling a brick across the field and compressing the soil. So you know, in a nutshell, that's what the technological advantage and what we tried to showcase during the show last week.
Yeah, basically being able to lower that pressure to decrease the compaction going through the field and still hold that load efficiently, basically, right? Absolutely. And we're building it in a rain sound. Today we've got about 12 sizes that are released in the market, our plan is to offer about 20 sizes. Our goal is even to create radio tires and certain sizes that today don't exist. From the existence of bias existing size, but not as a radio. And so our proposal, our offer, our commitment to the American farmers and farmers around the world, but we're in America is to bring that technology to all of the equipment that we can so they can get that maximum of return on their investment, get a great product that works, deliver to their expectations, deliver the value, and more importantly, hopefully helps them achieve the yields they're aiming for, especially in these trying times or costs are still high, despite crop prices, you know, getting better and better, but still that gap is not tight enough. So the more we can do to help them create more yield, the better it is for all of us.

Sorry, Greg got me off there. But anyway, with Pat and valent, we have been working on a new or working with a new product. There's actually something that we've been calling Repeticell for the last couple years, but Pat talked to us a little bit about this new emperor product that is now going to be on the market. Yeah, great. It's great to be here. Thanks for having me on. So Repeticell was the trademark active ingredient name for a pirafinicell, which is a brand new novel group 14 herbicide.
And the products that will be available are going to be brand names in para, which is the solo product that would be used primarily for burn down, can be incorporated into your burn down program with or without residuals. And then we have in para verajas, which is a pre-mixer of Repeticell plus flumeoxys and plus pyroxasulfone. So you get burn down plus residual control with that product. One of the things that we saw with this Repeticell or now just the straight empera is very fast burn down. So we sprayed one day, we come back the next day, everything's fried to the ground. It's almost as fast as gremaxone, yet it's a lot safer product to human beings than gremaxone. So how about in terms of weather conditions? One of our challenges always is spraying in the spring when it's cool or in the fall when it's cool. Just burn down in general. Do you have any tips on how we make imperat work the best that it possibly can?
Yeah, a couple of things. So it will still work very well under cool conditions, but you know, summer conditions is when you get that really, really fast burn down. Yeah. Where we see symptoms in 12 hours and dead plants in one to three days. If you roll back to the spring when it's cooler, symptoms are going to be a little bit slower to show up and take a little bit longer to kill, but it's still really fast and faster than a lot of the other products that are on the market. So some tips for getting at the work best is our current best recommendation is use Cropwell Constanthrate plus Non-Ionix or fact that that really improves the consistency of control across a lot of weeds and across a lot of different environmental conditions. So COC plus NIS, I know going high gallon into water is not the thing everybody wants to do, but although it is systemic, we still want to have really good coverage of the weeds
and that's especially important under the cooler conditions. Say Pat, one of the other interesting things about imperat is it's the only PPO that I know of that you can put with a valor or sharpen or authority, Spartan, any of those and still plant soybeans right away. So the challenge is because a lot of people say, well, I want to throw in another PPO for more burn down. Well, you can't do that because of the residual and you can hurt the beans, but you could throw more imperat in there. And that's why you've got that pre-mix, the imperat varragis with the valor component in there, right? That is correct. And I basically would say if the other tank mix partner label restricts it, don't do it. So if sharpen says don't mix with another PPO, we don't do it. But you're generally speaking, you can see it with other PPO's and have good crop safety. I got about 30 seconds left, Pat, anything else you wanted to bring up in terms of new products for next year.
Now, these are the two big ones still awaiting, gotten a lot of the state registrations, going to roll in and plan to produce the stuff this fall and have imperat and imperat varragis available for the spring burn down market.
