5:07We have got so much. Are you following all this stuff in terms of where guys are moving around and NFL free agency? It does not. Let me and I hate to even start the show off like this, but I don't really feel like I felt I could, you know, whatever I was going to do was going to be mostly for the Vikings and they drafted me and I would have loved to have ended my career there. Unfortunately, because of them cutting me, I ended up with one year with the Saints. Right. I don't, I don't understand where the like the, I want to use the word appreciation of being able to get to the league and a team drafts you, has you as a free agent or whatever the case may be. And that's not the team that you want to be with. Now they can cut you and now at that, at that point, you're, you're open to do whatever

6:07you need to do to basically survive. I'm not sure like, I don't know if I could help you look like just because the contract wasn't happening. I can remember one year that I had an issue with with Mike Lynn and you just sit out. You didn't, you didn't go to another team. And again, you could say, well, that you couldn't do that back, man. But why would you even want to do that now? Like, what about all your buddies? What happened? Like, you just, you'll just see them on Facebook, man. You can just like, I just, I, I just really don't get it. And it makes you get to that point where, hey, once, oh, that's an old guy. He, you know, he played way back in the day. He doesn't, he doesn't understand what the reality of it is. Okay. I'll accept that. All right. I want to get into some of the guys that are moving around because some guys that were used to seeing in one place, now they're going to be playing in other locations. But I just wanted to get your reaction to this story this weekend. I didn't want to send you a text on this.

7:12Okay. Okay. But the story about Trent McDuffy going to the Rams with the highest, the biggest contract ever given to a defensive corner. Okay. Four years, a hundred and 24 million, a hundred million dollars of this is guaranteed, a hundred million dollars. I just can't imagine what it must be like to like walk into a room, sign your name, and then suddenly you have 100 million dollars. But that's what McDuffy did. He's 25 years old. He'll make 31 million dollars per season. So, how many games they playing now, like 17 regular season games? Is that right? Okay. So, well, and you're going to play for the Rams. So you're going to, you're going to be probably playing one or two extra, extra games in the playoffs. I mean, that's, that's pretty amazing, right? To think about a DB that's making, what are we talking like 1.4 million per game?

8:17Yeah, pretty much. My question, my question is, is he that much more valuable than let's just say Darryl Green? Oh, man, probably not. Probably not. And so now what you're, what you're looking at, and I get it, the markets changed, and all of those kinds of things. But do you not owe Darryl Green something? Like, can we not go back and say like, you know what, man? You know, we're sorry, because I can, I can bet you somewhere in his career. If he was, if he was making $100,000 in his rookie season, I bet you he would have been satisfied and, and, and okay. Man, I love this opinion of yours. I love this opinion that somehow, yeah,

9:24McDuffy should send Darryl Green to check some sort of, for some sort of a check. For sure, because he's just, I mean, you're paying these guys and, and, and to me, he's a, he's the first ballot Hall of Famer right now. If you're paying him that, yeah, he's probably won't still work in his jersey. He's one of those guys who always wore his jersey, even with the, you don't see players, dude, right, right, Carl, let me ask you, man, you've got your old jerseys, you got a couple, you never wear those out in public. I mean, never, no, I've never, it's, I like NFL gear just because I've got a ton of it. I got a ton of biking gear. I got a ton of South Trust, which I wear all of it from, from the high school to Marshall, to Minnesota, and every neighborhood maybe a sprinkle of, of, of the Saints. But, if you, if you're going to give me $100 million,

10:27I'm going to wear nothing but, nothing but every day of biking gear. Cooper, I haven't brought this up in the first couple of hours, but I was thinking about you, too, today about the Kenneth Walker thing. So Walker is, you know, remember when we thought the chiefs were finished, apparently not, apparently not. So Walker is the reigning Super Bowl MVP. He's leaving Seattle. He's going to the chiefs. And now the word is out that Travis Kelsey's coming back, too. He's coming back for like a 14th year to play for the chiefs. It's, it's rare for a Super Bowl MVP to change teams like this. Yeah. Very rare. Well, it's rare for a running buck, I think. I think we've seen it with like random defensive box. I remember when the Raiders went out and paid big money for whatever that, that New England defensive back that made one play in the Super Bowl was, that freeze in the end of the year and paid him a ton of money to never do anything. But you occasionally see those things. It's going to be interesting to see what

11:29happens with Walker because he was never able to be the full-time feature back at Seattle. He always split carries the whole time there. He's very injury prone for the most part. I think every, every season he was with the Seahawks, some portion of it he lost to injury at some point in time. So it'll be interesting to see what happens when he's the main guy somewhere. And for Seattle, it makes a lot of sense. They can't chase a lot of that money and they have, they've always like shaper-navi in the back field. And that's going to be their main guy now. It makes a lot of sense for that. So but now it looks like now Seattle is either going to have to draft a back or they're going to have to sign a back because they're going to have to have, they're going to have to have a second back. And the bad thing about that, are you guaranteed to get what you see? Oh, no, of course not. Yeah, of course not. I mean, whether or not it's a first and let's be honest, there's been a good number of first round guys that you think you, that's your guy that you can't know and that you're going to pay right out of the shoot and expect him to produce. You never know. And you just never know. The one thing about Kenneth Walker too, I saw great start today about him. The, the chiefs last year were dead last in the league in terms of

12:37averaged mistakels on running backs. Their, their backs did not force a lot of mistakels at all. Walker led the NFL in that category the last two years. He forced more mistakels than any back in the league. So that, you know, they saw their problem and they went and, and they fixed it. A couple of other things. So what do you think about this Mike Evans move? So Evans, think he's got anything left. He's going from Tampa Bay where he'd spend his entire career and was going to the Hall of Fame and had the opportunity to spend his entire career with one franchise, be one of those rare guys who played an entire run in one franchise. But now he's sound like a three year deal of play for the Niners. Um, what's he got left? He's a, he's a good receiver. Um, I think it's a good move for the Niners. I mean, when he's healthy, he's tough, man. He's, he, he makes touchdowns. And how many, how many years? Three, three.

13:38And I know how many years has he had? Oh, man. Um, he's been in the league at least 10 years, more than probably more than that. And, and I've told, I've told my story like, you know, you can, you can, you can feel good all season getting ready for that next season. And before you know it, your body shuts down. And he was a first round pick seventh overall in 2014. So he's, he's already spent a dozen years in the league. That's, that's, I mean, you just, that, that, that in that position with that many years, you can, you never know. It could be, it could be midway through the season. It could be before the season starts. You just don't know. How about, how about the two of news today? So Tua is being cut by the, the dolphins. It's a massive cabinet for Miami for not, they're going to try to split it up

14:39between the next two years, but he is signed with the Falcons. So he's going to the, the Falcons are basically getting a free QB. I mean, the, um, the Niners are, I mean, the, the dolphins get the big cap hit. And so Tua goes to Atlanta for $1.3 million. So I don't even know how, I don't even know how many zeroes. No, so, and Koop, we talked about the, the Minkafit Patrick thing. So you go to Miami, you get traded at Pittsburgh, you win a lot of games, you go back to Miami, they're a grease fire. And so now, you're going to the Jets. At the end of your career, you're going to the Jets. That doesn't seem fair. No, it doesn't seem fair. But, but as long as the money's right. Yeah, as long as the money's right. Well, yeah, that's a big point. Yeah, that is the, that is it. That is the main thing. So Steelers making a couple of moves today. Michael Pitman from the, the Colts is going to Pittsburgh.

15:40It's a trade that involves the Steelers sending a late round pick to Indy. We don't know which pick that's going to be. But then he immediately signed with the, the Steelers a three year contract. So the Steelers, maybe a year late, got their best number two wide receiver, um, to, to, to put one Metcalf, Calvin, Calvin Austin is a free agent. And the Steelers also, uh, they gained a, a defensive back, uh, Jamel Dean from Tampa Bay. But they, I hated to see this guy go out the door. Kenneth Gainwell, uh, had a really good year for Pittsburgh. He is going to Tampa Bay two years for 14 million. So Caleb Johnson, come on down. Looks like your opportunity to, to play is, is it finally here? Malik Willis also, um, is going to Florida. So with tuba going to the, uh, don't go to the Falcons, Willis is leaving the, the Packers and is going to Miami. So he's finally going to get a chance to start. Let's take a quick break. President Trump lay today said the U.S. Israeli war against Iran is, quote, very complete ahead of schedule, a hint that it could be ending soon. On Wall Street, that push stocks sharply higher turning around earlier losses, pushed oil prices lower at the close to the Dow, up 239.5% higher. The Nasdaq up 308 points, a 1 in a third percent gain thanks to a big turn around in chairs of chip makers like Nvidia, AMD and Qualcomm. The S&P up 56 and oil would shot to over $100 a barrel earlier today, down to as low as 86 bucks a barrel late in the day. The bankrupt Sax 5th Avenue chain is closing 12 more of its signature stores in 11 states, along with three Neiman Market stores.

We'll have more on AccuOther after the news. It's state high school basketball championships in Charleston for the next two weeks. And officials say they are expecting a huge impact on the economy as thousands of fans descend on the capital city. Charleston, CVB president and CEO Tim Brady says the state tournaments bring a lot of money into the city. Just those two events, just those two weeks. That's a $10 plus million economic impact to the city of Charleston. The state girls tournament gets underway Tuesday at 930 AM. House of delegates giving unanimous approval today to a bill that would strengthen penalties for certain crimes, including first degree murder with mercy. The bill would raise the minimum time served to be eligible for parole to 25 years from the original time of 15

26:24years. House judiciary committee chairman J.B. Aker says the idea for this came from victim's families. The focus of this bill in terms of the increases in the parole eligibility hearings, that was victim centric. And we certainly should be mindful of folks who weren't incarcerated and if they have the ability to be rehabilitated and put back out in society, we should try to achieve that goal. But many times we just don't talk about the victims at all. The bill would also increase the prison sentence for second degree murder and voluntary manslaughter, or can be read at wvmetrenews.com. And the Charleston man is facing charges following a shooting that took place Sunday evening in Charleston, 33 year old, Julian groom allegedly shot a person on VZ street a little before 6 p.m. The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the leg, according to a criminal complaint. Surveillance video showed groom throwing a gun into the canal river. He's being held on a $50,000 bond. After news accurate, the forecast says tonight will be clear to mostly cloudy, low 53. It's 532 and 73 degrees in the capital city.

We got a hundred million dollars like McDuffy just did from the Rams. Well, you think the first

30:37I'll get you caught up on it. All right. Cool. Let's talk a little bit about what we've got going locally. So all of the games are flagship is 580 WCHS here in Charleston. Right. There is you have ESPN Charleston and the frequency for that is it's one of six seven and 14. Okay. So beginning tomorrow at nine thirty when the games begin, all of the games will be there. Right. So pregame starts at nine. So if you want to get the full pregame experience that starts at nine o'clock, those in Charleston anyway will be all of those games so that will be regardless of when the games are on in Charleston, you'll hear it on ESPN regardless. So that will be all morning sessions and all afternoon sessions or evening sessions. And then on 580 after we clear the air at six o'clock, we'll pick up the the evening session then at six until probably Thursday or Friday until we get into the semi finals and then we'll probably pill away at five o'clock then as well. To make sure we get all those games on here. So that's how we're going to handle things in Charleston. Your affiliate might be doing things different wherever you are that's going to have

31:41these games on. But if you're going to be driving down to Charleston to see any of these games, that's where you're going to be able to find them. All right. And here is how this is going to affect our show because we're into that weird period of the year where we have the girls tournament and then the boys tournament in consecutive weeks. These are our so called secret shows. Right. So many affiliates will be cherry picking some of the best games of the girls and the boys tournament. The House of Senate passed a number of bills on third reading during their four sessions today. The House passed a Senate bill increasing penalties for certain crimes. This was meant to provide it so that the victims and these first three cases in particular don't have to start appearing at parole hearings before we know that the defendant is going to be released, which is a painful and difficult process for the victims.
