Zhang Zongchang is a historian and military historian specializing in modern Chinese military history. He has written extensively on the subject and has been a frequent commentator on Chinese military affairs. Zhang Zongchang holds a Ph.D. in history from the University of Shanghai and has taught at several universities in China. He is currently a research fellow at the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences.
