He is a specialist in thermal propulsion systems and has worked on several high-profile missions, including the Mars 2020 rover. Maru has a Ph.D. in aerospace engineering from the University of Tokyo and has published numerous papers on his research. He is also an avid fan of basketball and enjoys playing in his free time.
