Sajid Hekmati
Former US Marine
Sajid Hekmati is an American former Marine who was detained in Iran from 2009 to 2011. He was arrested on charges of espionage and sentenced to death, but was later released in a prisoner swap. Hekmati has become a prominent advocate for prisoner rights and has written about his experiences in captivity. He has also spoken publicly about the importance of diplomacy and dialogue in resolving conflicts.
