Rabbi Nachman of Breslov (1778-1810) was a Hasidic rebbe, talmudist, and author. He is considered one of the most influential figures in modern Hasidism. Born in Medzhibozersk, Russia, he founded the Breslover Hasidic dynasty and wrote numerous works on Jewish mysticism and philosophy. His teachings emphasize the importance of devotion to God and the power of prayer.
