Olympia Dukakis was a Greek-American actress, best known for her Academy Award-winning performance in the 1980 film 'Steel Magnolias'. Born on January 20, 1931, in Lowell, Massachusetts, Olympia began her acting career at a young age and went on to work with various renowned directors such as Mike Nichols. She was also an advocate for social justice causes.
