Nikolai Chernyshevsky was a Russian philosopher, revolutionary, and writer. He is considered one of the most important thinkers in the history of Russian socialism. Born on May 23, 1823, in Moscow, Russia, he studied law at the University of Kazan and later became involved with the revolutionary movement. He is best known for his novel 'What Is to Be Done?', which explores themes of nihilism and social reform.
