Nathan Newby
Nathan Newby is a Leeds resident who thwarted a terrorist attack at St Jamess Hospital in January 2023. He engaged Mohammad Farooq, carrying a bomb, in conversation, leading to Farooqs confession and eventual arrest. Newbys actions saved the maternity ward and earned him Britains George Medal. He is a local hero and his actions have been widely recognized.
