Manly Wade Wellman was an American author and historian. He was born in 1891 and died in 1975. Wellman was a prolific writer who published over 100 books on a wide range of topics, including history, science fiction, and fantasy. He is best known for his novels and short stories about the American Civil War and its cultural significance. Wellman was also a historian and taught at several institutions.
