Joseph Smith Sr. was the patriarch of the Smith family and a prominent leader in the early days of the Mormon movement. He was the father of Joseph Smith Jr. and played a key role in the development of the Church. Smith Sr. was known for his wisdom and his ability to interpret scripture.
