John Cairns

British geneticist and historian of science

John Cairns was a British geneticist and historian of science. He was born in London, England, and received his undergraduate degree from the University of Cambridge. Cairns was a fellow of the Royal Society and has written extensively on the history of genetics and molecular biology. He was also a prominent figure in the development of the theory of molecular evolution.
