Joe Don Rooney is an American musician, singer, songwriter, and record producer. He was born on July 12, 1974, in Lexington, Kentucky. Rooney is best known as the lead guitarist and backing vocalist of the country music group Rascal Flatts, which he formed in 2000 with Gary LeVox and Jay DeMarcus. He has also released solo music and has worked as a producer for various artists.
