Jackson Pollock was an American artist and a leading figure in the abstract expressionist movement. Born on January 28, 1912, in Cody, Wyoming, Pollock was known for his unique technique of dripping and splashing paint onto a canvas. He was a prominent figure in the New York art scene and was married to artist Lee Krasner. Pollock's work is highly regarded for its emotional intensity and expressive qualities.
