Ignazio Silone

Italian novelist and journalist

Italian novelist, journalist, and politician. Born in 1900 in Pescina, Italy. He is best known for his novel 'Fontane di Roma' (Fountains of Rome), which won the Viareggio Prize in 1925. Silone was also a prominent figure in the Italian Communist Party and served as a deputy in the Italian Parliament.
