Hou Yifan

World chess champion and chess grandmaster

Hou Yifan is a Chinese chess grandmaster and women's world chess champion. Born in 1994 in Xuzhou, Jiangsu, China, she began playing chess at the age of 5. She became a grandmaster at 18 and won the women's world chess championship in 2010, 2011, 2013, and 2015. Hou is known for her aggressive playing style and has been a role model for young female chess players around the world.
