Herb Ellis was a highly influential jazz guitarist known for his distinctive tone and virtuosic playing style. He was a member of the Gerry Mulligan Quartet and has played with many other legendary musicians. Ellis was born in New York City, USA and began playing guitar at a young age. He was known for his ability to blend into any group and his ability to improvise. Ellis passed away in 1971.
