Henry Fletcher Hance

Henry Fletcher Hance (1820-1887) was a British botanist and plant collector who traveled extensively throughout Asia, collecting and classifying numerous plant species. He was one of the first Western botanists to study the flora of China and India. Hance's work laid the foundation for future botanical research in the region. He is considered one of the most important plant collectors of the 19th century.
