Grace Hopper was a computer scientist and Navy Rear Admiral who made significant contributions to the development of the first high-level programming languages. She is best known for her work on the COBOL programming language and her development of the first compiler. Grace was a pioneer for women in technology and was a vocal advocate for the importance of computer science education.
