Gil Evans

Gil Evans was an American jazz arranger, composer, and conductor. Born on April 13, 1912, in New York City, he studied at Columbia University and later served in the US Army. After the war, he worked with various jazz musicians, including Miles Davis and Gerry Mulligan. Evans is best known for his work with Miles Davis, particularly on the album 'Birth of the Cool'.
