Ernő Rubik is a Hungarian sculptor, architect, and professor of architecture. He was born on July 13, 1944, in Budapest, Hungary. Rubik received his degree in sculpture from the Academy of Applied Arts and Crafts in Budapest. He is best known for inventing the Rubik's Cube, a 3D puzzle that became a global phenomenon.
