Ernest Simpson was an American businessman and the husband of Wallis Simpson. Born in 1888, he was a successful entrepreneur who made his fortune in the shipping industry. Simpson was known for his charm and his love of luxury, and was a popular figure in high society. He was also known for his role in his wife's rise to prominence, and was a frequent presence at royal events. Simpson died in 1972 at the age of 84.
