Dr. Mohammad Reza Shahmiri is an Iranian historian and scholar specializing in the history of the Sassanian Empire. He has written numerous books and articles on the subject and has taught at several universities in Iran. Born in Tehran, Iran, Shahmiri holds a Ph.D. in History from the University of Tehran. He is currently a professor emeritus at the University of Tehran.
