Charlie Basset was a lawman and gunslinger in the American Old West. Born in 1850 in Texas, Basset served as a deputy marshal in Dodge City, Kansas, and later in Wichita, Kansas. He was known for his bravery and his skills with a gun. Basset died in 1898 in Wichita, Kansas. He was a close friend and ally of Wyatt Earp.
