Charles Cholmondeley

British Intelligence Officer

Charles Cholmondeley was a British intelligence officer and codebreaker. He served in the British Navy during World War I and later worked in the British Secret Intelligence Service (SIS). Cholmondeley was known for his work on the 'Mincemeat' operation, a covert operation to deceive the Nazis about the Allied invasion of Normandy. He was also a close friend and colleague of Ewen Montagu.
