Legendary jazz singer and bandleader
Cab Calloway was an American jazz singer, bandleader, and actor. Born in 1907 in Roosevelt, New York, he rose to fame in the 1930s with his hit song "Minnie the Moocher". Calloway was a pioneer of jazz music and performed with numerous big bands throughout his career. He is still remembered today for his energetic stage presence and iconic song. Calloway passed away in 1994.
